Progress in politics, and moreover, governance, is still the priority. Clearly, equality and freedom are ideas for which we still need to fight. 🇺🇸🇺🇦

@ConceptualJames - I have a question in good faith here: do you think Trump/MAGA are the divisive force? We seem to be getting more divided over the Olympics, Super Bowls, not to mention discourse and governance. Representation of the USA with the Obama vid stopping communism?

What did he say? That he's not a fan of everything going on in America? Your career has been based on criticising things going on in America. If he held your views &. criticised what you do, would he lack gratitude, honor & patriotism?

@LilaGraceRose This is 100% true. It is a betrayal of the public trust and behavior that undermines the legitimacy and stability of the republic. “Working on democracy” includes holding our duly elected public servants morally accountable.

@jaketapper It's impeachable, Jake. Alexander Hamilton described impeachable offenses as “the abuse or violation of some public trust”—a definition that easily encompasses intentionally inflaming racial divisions for political gain.

@SenRonJohnson @SenatorBaldwin @RepMarkPocan As your constituent, I am certain that @realDonaldTrump committed a betrayal of the constitutional order today by undermining national unity, inciting domestic conflict, and using the office to inflame racial hostility. #Impeach

I love the USA. Our constitution and the principles of liberal, pluralistic democracy created a framework to improve humanity. Black Americans are perhaps the most American Americans because their cultural continuity and ancestry were broken. @realDonaldTrump, resign today. -USA

@benryanwriter Like many, Ben, I appreciate how you take it from both sides to maintain your steadfast impartiality. Especially this topic which, wherever one stands ideologically, everyone should recognize that people have serious distress and should not be political fodder. U R Courageous.

In the quote tweet you'll see what people—in this case another reporter, who I guess is very proud of himself indeed—say to disparage me when they haven't actually read my reporting. One day, some of these people are going to stop, reflect and realize that they were part of an illiberal campaign to silence the few of us who actually have the gumption to report about pediatric gender medicine without an allegiance to political ideology. Cue @infinite_jaz claiming I'm the one with an ideological mission. And so it goes, round and round. What I can say is that if it were not for me, no one would've heard about the nation's first detransitioner lawsuit getting a $2M judgement. I was the only reporter who knew about it (and then, silly me, I tweeted some bread crumbs, and the Epoch Times showed up to the trial as well). Would people rather that this piece of historic news simply remain under the rug? Because that's what Jasper is really saying. He's saying that I should never have informed people at all about this young woman having erroneously having her breasts removed at age 16. Her pain and suffering and the jury deciding she'd been harmed by her care providers, that's just inconsequential and, most importantly, inconvenient to people like Jasper. Best not to bring it up. For a journalist's actual role, the Jaspers of the world think, is to selectively edit what they report in the event that it proves inconvenient to a favored political movement.

@benryanwriter @bariweiss Tysm. There’s simply nowhere else to turn these days for stories about the great threat of transgenderism

BREAKING: 1st Detransitioner to Take a Medical-Malpractice Lawsuit to Trial Wins $2 Million Judgement Fox Varian sued her Westchester, NY, area psychologist and plastic surgeon for the gender-transition mastectomy she got at 16. I was the only reporter to attend the entire 3-week, historic trial. Subscribe to my Substack to receive an alert about the feature article I have coming out next week in a major publication out about the trial: benryan.substack.com. I cover pediatric gender medicine as a specialty on my Substack. Sorry to just give just a teaser for now about the case! But I wanted to get the word out about the verdict promptly, the slower pace of feature-article publishing notwithstanding. The entire case file was put under seal when the trial started (although I obtained all those documents before they was sealed), and all the transcripts from the trial are also under seal. The riveting trial was sparsely attended and there was only one other reporter at the trial; and he only attended for part of it and, as I observed, took few notes. So my own hundreds of pages of notes from the trial will likely remain the only way for the public to learn about the all finer details of what transpired, possibly ever (or until an appeal, should that happen). In addition to my article coming out in the media outlet soon, I intend to write a lot about what I observed and learned on my Substack over the coming weeks. Stay tuned…

Hey Americans! I love you and we're all in this together. We're not left/dem against right/rep, we're Americans. Can we respond to each other's words with grace as opposed to judgment and unite behind the principles of the 4 pages that protect us from the government?

"Erasing women and women-specific language and needs based on their sex is not only wrong, but also demeaning, regressive and constitutes one of the worst forms of violence that women and girls can experience," @UNSRVAW Reem Alsalem told the @UN Human Rights Council. #HRC59

After I finished chemo for cancer in Aug. 2022, I was a wreck—fat and weak. My goal was to deadlift a single rep at 425 lbs by the following June. I made my goal. Today, two years later, I did five sets of five reps at 425. And per my CT scan the other day, I’m still cancer free!

I’m not an X or Elon fanboy. I’m a feminist that believes a return to the principles of 2nd Wave Feminism is necessary to unite our country again. I’m just documenting that there is no mention of InternationalWomensDay in @nytimes this morning, but it is #1 trending on X.
