@Ajay_Bagga Events like this can undo years of hard work to uplift the economic condition of India’s poor and middle class. Price rises quickly seep into everyday essentials - and while prices rarely retrace, the economic condition of the poor and middle class does.

The EU’s economy commissioner has said the conflict could have “substantial stagflationary shocks on the global and European economy” if it extends beyond “a couple of weeks”. Speaking in Brussels ahead of a meeting of eurozone finance ministers to discuss the recent jump in energy prices, Valdis Dombrovskis said: If it becomes more protracted with shipping disruption in [Strait of] Hormuz and also with attacks on energy infrastructure in the Gulf countries, it may end up with substantial stagflationary shocks on global and European economy with high energy prices spreading to broader inflation and confidence effects, supply chain disruptions and tighter monetary conditions. This underscored the need to “de-escalate this conflict as soon as possible”, Dombrovskis added.

For everyone who is disappointed that we didn’t finish Pakistan. I have only one question. What exactly do you mean by “Finish Pakistan”? What do you expect to do? Do you want to do a WW2 style Operation Sickle Cut, launch armored pincer movements, encircle Pakistani armies and annex Pakistan? Why on earth would you want to do that? Do you want to add 300 million hostile people, some of whom already think blowing themselves up is their greatest purpose in life? How will you manage them? Is that how you will finish Pakistan? Or do you want to nuke them out of existence? Because let me give you a reality check here. We won’t do that. We can’t do that. Indian citizens cannot morally contemplate, let alone sanction, nuking 300 million people. So that option is out. Then Someone said, “Let’s split Pakistan into 5 countries”. Now, Pakistan isn’t some Ikea Furniture that you can assemble or disassemble at your will. As hopeless they may be, they still have a functioning military and a working bureaucracy. They will do anything they can to keep the country together. With all our might, with all our focus, we can exploit that Faultline, but it will take a lot of money and energy and 10-15 years. Are you ready to wait that long? Some people said we should do a large-scale attack on all their air bases, military bases, Ports, Military HQ everything. Obliterate them out of existence. Sounds nice if you are movie general. In reality if we do that, Pakistan will launch nukes on Mumbai and Delhi. Simple. Because it will be their last resort and they will exercise it. Obviously, we will retaliate and wipe them out of existence, but are ready to lose our 2 big cities and the lives of 20 million Indians as a price for taking out their military? I don’t think so. Finally, what is War? War is nothing but politics by other means. And War without objective is pointless. Any battle launched should be with a purpose. Our purpose in this strike was two-fold 1. Send a message to Pakistan that for every Indian your terrorist kills, we will kill 100 of your terrorists. We will take you out even if you are ensconced in the heart of your country. We will come after your terrorists like a wrath of God. 2. If Pakistan retaliates, not only can we handle them, but we will also hit and twist the knife if it comes to that. We have achieved it. In fact, we have more than achieved it. We have put the fear of God in the terrorists. Obviously, they will try again, but this time they know we will hit back. And we have clearly shown Pakistan that we can penetrate wherever we want into Pakistan, while the maximum they can do is look up and shake their fists. Some people also speak about India being diplomatically isolated. In this entire exercise, if anyone has been isolated, it is Pakistan. In the olden days, as soon as something bad from Pakistan happened, most countries used to descend on us, asking us to be restrained, calm, resilient etc. This time not only did nobody speak, but they also allowed us three days of complete freedom of action where we stuck fear in the hearts of the Pakistani military. So much so, they had to beg to us to stop. In international diplomacy, no country will come out and say “Please attack someone else. We are with you” . They will support you only when you are being attacked. The fact that nobody said anything when we attacked, is a diplomatic success in itself. Just that we don’t see it. To summarize, as far as Operation Sindoor is concerned 1. We sent 200 jihadis to where they belong. 2. Took out 9 terrorist locations deep inside Pakistan 3. Attacked all major Pakistani Air bases, made a complete mockery of their air defence system. 4. Made them beg for us to stop. I mean if it is a wrestling match, the person who taps out first is the one who loses. Pakistan tapped out. Ergo, they lost. 5. Ensured Indus Water Treaty is now firmly in the dustbin. 6. Have given ourselves the freedom to attack Pakistan as soon as a Terrorist incident takes place. If this is not a win for us, then I don’t know what is. P:S: India wants to be an advanced country and has to provide for 80 crore people who are below the age of 30. We have to focus on industrialization, technological self-sufficiency and agricultural modernization. We have higher priorities than fighting pointless wars against a country who has nothing and can give nothing.

@RenukaJain6 @nsitharamanoffc @narendramodi Since India does not have any social security system, government should appreciate that with inherent entrepreneurial spirit of the Indian middle class, stock markets play a proxy, hence exempt capital gains

Respected @nsitharamanoffc @narendramodi Sir. Your tax cut for middle class tax payers will not boost consumption as the same middle class will have a huge dent in their portfolio. Revisit LTCG or STT to attract FII . Else corporate results will continue with margin pressures and low capex due to low demand. Retail investors need support of government.

If you are going to do something like this be large hearted & do it properly Just abolish income tax on all income below 12 lakh. Start charging tax for what you earn above 12 lakhs This is confusing: is it 4 lakh or 12 lakh? Only chartered accountants will benefit
Vikram Chandra@vikramchandra

In case you are wondering how it is zero tax up to 12 lakh p.a, when the actual income tax slabs start at 4 lakh. The answer lies in various rebates and deductions.

Half hour into FM @nsitharaman speech: Bihar already mentioned 4 times for specific schemes . Just a reminder: We do have 28 states and 8 union territories. Guess it pays to be ruled by a key ally supporting the Centre. Not to forget elections in Bihar later this year. 🙏#BudgetOnIndiaToday

The intellectually deficient Modi government has no real big ideas for change. All it can can do ( at best) is tinker with micro details ( and even those are shoddy and barely implemented). Zero intellect, zero governance government. #BudgetSession2025 #Budget

Can someone clarify: if I make 12.75 lakhs, I pay no tax. But God forbid, I make 12.80 Lakhs, I end up paying income tax of around 72K??? So I make 5k more and end up with lower disposable income than someone earning less than me?

25% goes to repayment of sticky consumer loans, imagine the new deposits the banks will get, new organic loan growth and recovery of sticky loans...it has a direct exponential positive impact on the banks. Please share your views.

@RBI @NITIAayog why are you asking charitable institutions to register on the Darpan Portal? Bankers are forcing for Darpan Portal ID failing which their accounts will be frozen. It is avoidable compliance burden when same information is already available with Income Tax Dept.

Larry Ellison is the craziest CEO alive: • Hired investigators to spy on Microsoft • Waged a decade-long war against Google • Plotted to buy Apple and make Steve Jobs the CEO At 80, he looks younger than most 50-year-olds. How he managed to do this is insane 🧵

Let me just say it - Air Travel is becoming a mess. What was once a joyful experience is now becoming a dread. Unfortunately consumers have no say in it. We're at the behest of a crazily one sided ecosystem. For a 9 am flight, one's day roughly starts at 5 am and by the time they reach any destination it's past noon at least. Not to mention the crazy mafia of cabbies or the ordeal to get out of the airport post landing. This 8 hour ordeal is filled with a long journey to the airport, navigating through multiple ID checks, multiple bag screenings, security checks and no real assistance from the staff who only look at everyone as if they're doing them a favour. This, is assuming the flight is on time and all goes well. Now God Forbid, If your flight is delayed, your problems have begun to compound. You are now going to get sucked into the quicksand of an apathetic ecosystem. No clear communication by the staff, no empathy or aid to passengers who may either be old, unwell, travelling for a happy family occasion, a bereavement or even an all important work commitment. Why is this lopsided? - If you get to the airport even marginally after their long cut-off time, you aren't allowed to fly. But they can continue to delay flights without any intimation. - If your bag is even marginally heavier, they won't let it in without charging you. But, if you're carrying just a handbag on a full flight they'll bully you into checking that in, because "no space" - If you carry a bottle of a beverage, it’s considered a security threat. If they sell the same bottle at 5X the price, it’s convenience. - They can keep you on a stationery plane without air conditioning, food or even the freedom to use a lavatory. But the minute you show any frustration, they may take strict security action against you and perhaps even make you ineligible for flying. - You're at the mercy of an airline where gate changes, flight changes, aerobridge and bus changes are frequent and random. But if you miss any of these announcements it's your fault because we told you its a Silent Airport. - You have to book tickets and pay in full immediately, that’s fair. But they will return the money only in 7 working days after deducting crazy cancellation charges of your initial amount. In a lot of cases, any refund is given through discount vouchers and subject to terms and conditions. The worst part however is, no one knows a way out of this! Demand-Supply-Cost-Infra-Rules-Regulations-Safety-Security are all important and must be adhered to. Everyone's equally helpless. The only solution – Airlines - please, please, please – train your staff to be more empathetic, helpful and respectful to passengers and ensure the processes are all customer focused and not just cost focused. What's a process, can't be changed. But what can, is the experience you provide. Not sure if this will even make a difference to anyone, but that’s all one can do as a customer without much choice, right? Make a suggestion or voice a rant. An airline isn’t just about stuffing people in a metal tube and transporting them. It’s about connecting people to their loved ones. Parents meeting children in different cities, a couple celebrating a milestone occasion, a family having worked very hard to save up for this trip. It’s a celebration of one of mankind’s greatest inventions. @airindia @airvistara @AkasaAir @IndiGo6E @flyspicejet @DGCAIndia @consaff @LiveFromALounge @TheSanjivKapoor
