Just returned for 4 days in the wilderness with some youth who are at a high risk for gang involvement or are already involved. Amazing things happen when you take kids outdoors. Came back with 8 happy campers who got to put away their personas and affiliations and be KIDS.

Many years ago, a gal I lived with told me she was leaving & gave me a month's notice. I said something along the lines of "That's unfortunate. You have to do what you have to do though. I wish you the best" I thought it was a mature breakup & we could be amicable. I then left for a stint working in the field for a month. When I got home, she had cleaned me out. From the salt & pepper shakers to the half roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. She was bitter and I had been naive. When someone announces with great fanfare they are leaving and gives a long timeline, they don't really want to leave. What they want is attention and to be talked into staying. As I learned, they can get rather pissed if you don't try to change their mind. When somebody wants to go, they just go. They don't need to announce it to the world. They don't need to give notice. Enough fanfare Arlene. Go if that's what you want to do. Nobody is begging you to stay.
