BREAKING: Freedom Convoy protester Pat King has been found GUILTY of intimidation by the Court of Appeal for Ontario nearly 5 years later! The appeal court sloppily overturned Justice Hackland's carefully deliberated ruling that acquitted King of Intimidation. He now faces the possibility of years in prison. This is a blatant political act and is yet another milestone in Canada's internal destruction. We all knew this was coming. But here's what to do about it.

Ellie’s biopsy came back. It is melanoma. She has a PET scan and MRI scheduled for next week. Instead of pills, the treatment plan will likely be monthly intravenous immunotherapy, which can have side effects.

This is how media should work. I interviewed Pierre Poilievre. Some people wanted a more confrontational interview, with more interruption, debate, and pushback. I understand that. But that has never been my approach. My goal is to create a comfortable space for a free-flowing conversation where honesty can emerge. When a guest feels attacked, they often become defensive. That is not unique to politicians. It is human nature. In my view, some interviews become so focused on confrontation that we end up learning very little about how the person actually thinks. That is not the role I am trying to play. My role is to conduct thoughtful, calm, fair, long-form interviews. Then writers, journalists, commentators, and citizens can take those answers and analyze them further. People like @TristinHopper, who just wrote about the interview in the National Post, @dsimieritsch, who made a video referencing it, and many others can break down what was said, challenge it, agree with it, criticize it, or build on it. That is healthy. If you disagree with what Pierre Poilievre said in my interview, write about it. Make a post about it like @jessecmccormick and many others have done. Record a video about it. If you agree with him, do the same. The point is not that one interview should do everything. The point is that good interviews should create more conversation. Personally, I feel I gained a greater insight into how Pierre sees the media landscape, Mark Carney’s leadership, the impact politics has on his family, and what he believes he is up against as Conservative Leader than I have seen in many other interviews. People are free to disagree with my approach. They can say it was a softball t or that I should have done it differently. That's fine and also apart of this process. I am proud of the interview, grateful for the role I get to play, and committed to continuing long-form conversations that help Canadians better understand the people, issues, and choices shaping our country.

The podcast I created is now six years old. In 2020, I had an idea to start a podcast. I was raised by a single mother with FASD, never met my father, and spent a lot of my life looking for role models, mentors, and voices I could learn from. That was the beginning of The Bigger Than Me Podcast - a show focused on interviewing people who thought beyond themselves. With the support of my lovely wife Rebecca Pete, we started something unique. Over time, I realized my passion was moving more and more toward ideas. Ideas shape people. Good ideas can build businesses, strengthen economies, lift people out of poverty, and improve the world around us. Bad ideas can fuel division, greed, inequality, economic decline, and real harm. So in 2025, I renamed the show Nuanced with Aaron Pete. - a place to explore important ideas, ask difficult questions, and have serious conversations without losing our humanity. It has now been nearly a year under the new name, and six years since I first started hosting this show. We have grown to nearly 13,000 subscribers on YouTube and now average around 5,000 views per episode. I have had the privilege of speaking with Premiers, Ministers, Members of Parliament, journalists, judges, lawyers, scientists, academics, and community leaders. We cover some of the toughest issues facing Canada, but we try to do it with nuance, curiosity, and kindness. We assume good faith. We debate ideas without reducing people to insults. We try to make space for complexity in a time when so much of our public conversation rewards outrage and certainty. We have come a long way since 2020, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported.
