@nunebomber @APloetz @CoachSwit I remember us having 3-4 helmets that were soaking wet from everyone’s shared sweat, sketchy catchers gear and the really privileged kids may actually own their own bat we would all want to hit. 😂 GREAT times. It’s absolutely not like that anymore.

Travel baseball has turned into: Pay tons of money to play. Pay to travel. Pay to stay. Pay to watch your own kid. And somehow… this became normal. Will it ever change or just get worse?

@nunebomber @CoachSwit 100% this. When I was a kid, there was only “Rec League.” It cost $20 for the season. No uniforms or hats; we got a t-shirt with the name of our sponsor in big, block letters. Nobody had their own bat or helmet; everyone shared the ones from the equipment bag. And it was better.

@CoachSwit I hate travel ball. It’s taking kids out of local little leagues and demonizing “rec ball”. We didn’t have travel ball when I was a kid and we still had guys make it to the show. What’s that tell you?

@kirbyhilde @JJWatt I usually follow this. But on Sunday I went to my local brewery to refill/replace my growler. Filling up a growler takes a special adapter, plus they have to melt a plastic seal on the cap. Given that entire production, I do tip 20% because they do have to do a little extra.

Genuine question on a restaurant situation: You walk up to a counter to order. You find your own table and seat yourself. If you order coffee, they hand you a cup and you go fill it up yourself. If you order food, they hand you a buzzer and when it goes off, you go pick it up yourself. The iPad has a “20%, 25%, 30%, Other” tip option, with 20% already preselected. What’s your move?

@jtimsuggs Loved that series. Star Wars Obi-Wan is extremely underrated.

This moment from the final episode of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series still remains one of the most emotional scenes in all of Star Wars. Watching Obi-Wan and Darth Vader have a brief interaction following the events of the Prequel Trilogy was so incredibly profound, and will never not give me full body chills. Miss this series so much, was truly everything that I wanted it to be and more.

@SleeperHQ 1990 Brewers vs Angels. I was 14 and we went to the Brewer’s game at old Milwaukee County Stadium. Angels scored 7 early, but the Brewers answered with a team record 13 runs in one inning, and scored 20 runs on the day.
