“We have heard city employees make disparaging remarks about our president, sometimes about Republicans or conservatives and even entire groups of New Yorkers, with absolutely no consequence. Even if a policy prohibiting political speech by public employees is Constitutional, it sure as hell isn’t enforced fairly or consistently.” nypost.com/2026/05/10/us-…

Happy #MothersDay to all the mothers and mother-figures we are blessed to have in our lives. Let us always remember to celebrate the indispensable contributions they make to who we are as individuals, families, and a society. #HappyMothersDay

As New York considers mid-decade redistricting our @gracerauh warns: “In responding to these very real threats to democracy, it is imperative that New York lawmakers not harm their own voters.

As the son of a teacher, I know how hard they work and how important they are for the future of our young people. Thank you to all of our wonderful educators for all that they do #TeacherAppreciationWeek

Not sure we need a poll to tell us what any hardworking NYC taxpayer would tell you about the disastrous Democrat policies that have made this state unaffordable. But maybe it’s good to remind the Governor and Legislature before they finalize the state budget that raising taxes and adding even more burdensome regulations will continue to chase out residents and businesses nypost.com/2026/05/05/us-…

Hillel is not a foreign government office or a political lobbying arm. For many Jewish students, it is the primary space on campus where they gather for identity, culture, faith, holidays, counseling, community, and safety. Targeting a Jewish campus organization because it affirms Jewish identity is not about policy disagreement. It crosses a line into the exclusion of Jewish students from campus life. That is unacceptable. Period.

I sign onto @CMFrankMorano ’s letter requesting the Sanitation to postpone imposing fines on New Yorkers regarding the June 1st deadline for the required NYC garbage bins. Residents are fulfilling their responsibilities, but if Home Depot is unable to provide, they should not face penalties
Councilman Frank Morano@CMFrankMorano

Staten Islanders should not be penalized for the City’s failures. Thousands of residents are still waiting on mandated trash bins and still fines of up to $200 are looming. That’s not fair and it’s not common sense.

“This administration has pushed the ethical boundaries of public office by creating an army of taxpayer-funded propagandists and activists, using public kiosks for self-promotion, and running city government like a campaign TikTok video. If this doesn’t violate the letter of the conflicts of interest laws, it certainly violates the spirit of them.” nypost.com/2026/05/01/us-…

“One of the crucial lessons from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks was that our fragmented federal, state and local law enforcement agencies must openly communicate and fully cooperate to ensure it would never happen again. It’s a cruel irony that on the eve of the 25th anniversary of that horrific day, NY Democrats are working to dismantle the very foundations of our national security.” nypost.com/2026/04/30/us-…

Small business is the backbone of our community and our city. This morning I spoke at the @SIEDC annual business conference and renewed my commitment to fight for our local businesses and the financial empowerment and uplift in quality of life that they provide

It was great joining my colleagues at the launch of the George S. Kaufman Forums by @CitizensUnionNY . It was a strong discussion of issues facing our city from the budget to governmental ethics to the oversight of city agencies. I look forward to participating again!

I am relieved to know that @POTUS and all the other attendees tonight were kept safe from harm by the efforts of the Secret Service. God bless them and all who serve in law enforcement. Those who plan to commit acts of political violence need to receive a clear message: you will fail and you will face severe consequences

The DOE–NYPD MOU is not a one-to-one model for every situation, but it shows that coordination, clear roles, and NYC oversight were important enough to be explicitly defined. Currently, if a protest or disruption targets a non-public school facility that also houses a pre-K program, NYC policy is vague about what crosses the line into real harm for young children and staff. Ambiguity makes everyone less safe. Clarity, transparency, and accountability increase safety. The Council is promoting planning and transparency, not banning protest. Clear, consistent standards help protect everyone. Grateful to Speaker Menin and the City Council.
Speaker Julie Menin@SpeakerMenin

Ensuring students and congregants can enter and exit their schools and houses of worship without fear of harassment or intimidation should not be controversial. The safe access bills simply require the NYPD to clearly outline how they will ensure safe access when there are threats of obstruction or physical injury, while fully protecting First Amendment rights.

Atrocious that @ZohranKMamdani @NYCMayor found it a priority to VETO @EricDinowitzNYC’s bill protecting educational facilities from harassment, violence and intimidation. Make no mistake this is a nod to the constituency which elected him. With this VETO, the Mayor is INVITING Hamas supporters, violent MOBS and antisemites to stand outside our college campuses and educational facilities to HARRASS & INTIMIDATE students. Every major Jewish organization, including @ADL, @AJCGlobal & @JCRCNY has spoken out. THIS is a stain on the office of a sitting Mayor of a city with the largest population in the world. WE WILL FIGHT THIS act of antisemitism emanating from the halls of New York City’s government.
