coding before AI was a different kind of thrill. adrenaline during a production issue, spending hours tracing stack traces, digging through Stack Overflow, docs, GitHub issues, and finally finding that one tiny line causing the bug... AI makes us faster, no doubt. But it also took away some of those hard earned "I figured it out!" moments that made engineering so satisfying.
Akshay Saini@akshaymarch7

AI made us faster. I'm still not sure if it made coding more fun.

Many software engineers still underestimate the power of high-quality agent skills in their daily workflow. I've spent significant time refining my agent skills for > Code refactoring > Code reviews > Planning and researching > Creating design docs > Debugging and Monitoring etc. and it has easily boosted my productivity 5x+. Would love to know more about how folks are utilising agent skills to create kick-ass workflows. Drop your tips 🔽

One reply can change everything. Some of the best opportunities, friendships, and collaborations I've had started with a simple reply. Never underestimate replying consistently.

The safest way to make your system handle more traffic is to reject most of it. That's literally what rate limiting, load shedding, and circuit breakers do. The system survives because it learned to say no.

why do billion-dollar companies still have websites that look like they were built in 2012?

Amazing idea to introduce a key with username in WhatsApp. Even with your username, people can’t text you unless they have the key. You can, however, allow everyone as well.

Spent 3 days figuring out a solution for a problem that didn't exist because an AI tool said that it was a problem and later the same AI tool said, "Apologies for the oversight" when confronted with proof of it being wrong. Life was a lot easier when reading documentation or talking to experienced people was the first thing we did when we were stuck instead of talking to these "almost correct" systems.

@Its_lakshya_ai As a Dev, there is always a trade off between productivity and learnings. Sometimes, if I want to ship faster, learnings are at risk. You need to find a balance if you are dev
