As winter approaches, millions in Ukraine are facing another season without reliable heat, power, or access to basic necessities. @IFRC teams and the @RedCrossUkraine are working around the clock to provide cash assistance, essential equipment, and psychosocial support, but the needs continue to grow. “People are exhausted. Some have no central heating, no gas for cooking - it’s a race for survival. This winter is not going to be a usual winter; it’s going to be very tough.” - Victor Nyambala, IFRC Operations Manager Support is urgently needed to help families stay warm, safe, and resilient through the months ahead.

Yesterday the rescue ship, Ocean Viking, managed by @SOSMedIntl & @ifrc came under fire in the Mediterranean. 87 rescued people and our humanitarian staff were on board. Humanitarians are #Notatarget.

This #WorldHumanitarianDay we renew our calls louder: - Respect: States must uphold international laws to protect humanitarians. - Prevent: Immediate action from authorities to prevent further attacks. - Accountability: There must be respect for those who died through consequences for those who killed them. Impunity in any place breeds impunity in every place. - Support: Donors and organizations must invest in the safety and protection of all humanitarians– including training, protective equipment and insurance.
