@DMortenssen @UnityCodeMonkey It's not difficult to say it, it's difficult to understand it if you don't know what it means.

The best code separates concerns. For example the Player class shouldn't update the UI directly, instead it should fire an event which in turn the UI script should listen to it and do whatever it needs to do. Separating the UI from the underlying logic is one of the best (and also slightly easiest) things you can do to keep your code quality high. Ideally your game should be able to compile and work just fine without any UI at all, because none of the logic scripts should depend on the visual interface. Another example, if you have score in your game, it shouldn't be the Enemy class' responsibility to increase the score when an enemy dies, instead it should fire off an OnAnyEnemyDiedEvent which some kind of ScoreManager should listen to in order to update the total. Decoupling is one of the best things you can do to keep your code quality high. It keeps things smaller so you don't have to maintain a huge amount of data in your brain's working memory as you're building something.

Schizo time: This just seems odd to me... There's more positive reviews, than maximum players for Mixtape. Around over 1000 extra positive review. This is not unusual in itself, but its only a pattern you see with much older games, at least 3 years or older...like Skyrim, Left 4 Dead 2 or Elden Ring - because good reviews accumulate over the years. Mixtape just came out, 4 DAYS ago and already it shows a pattern seen almost only from games that are older than 3 years? This just seems out of the ordinary for me...

Probably a hot take amongst my followers, but honesty, I'm OK with this. Let me explain. Even if the game is peak, or Anita did close to nothing, or the game doesn't have any egregious radical feminism, I'm OK with the review bombing & refund requests. And that is because people like Anita have no business being in the gaming industry. She has admitted not being a gamer. She's has disrespected gaming time and time again. She has ridiculed and defamed gamers. And I'm supposed to give a pass to game studios who hire someone who straight up hates me and calls me a racist nazi bigot because I believe she lies about GameGate? Nah. Game studios need to put gamers before activists. Gaming before activism. People like Anita need to be chucked out of the gaming space, and if we need to bully game studios for them to get it into their thick skulls that they should respect their customer base enough to not bring in someone who trashes us on a daily basis, so be it. Would you bring in a skateboarder to consult how to make your Mercedes a better sedan? Would you bring in a satanist to consult how to make your church get more attendees?
