Once you’re ready to file your brief, save it under another name, change and increase the font, and then re-read it one more time (preferably in a different environment than normal). The current incident rate could be the same as the past but reporting may have become more prevalent. Growing up, I'd hear about these incidents from peers and they would mostly be laughed off. In some cases, if the lady was attractive, she would attract "victims." If she was a hag, she'd be avoided. On the other hand, the increased reporting could be the result of the steady masculinization of women who display more aggressive conduct.

Marriage is similar to, but not the same as, a contract. For example, contracts can be rescinded (unwound) in cases of fraud. Marriages can't, at least not in the same way. E.g. She says the baby's yours, so you marry her. Say 20 years later, it turns out that the baby is someone else's. You generally can't sue her for fraud and recover damages from her (or the kid).

Question for @nycdivorcelaw: An unconscionable contract is an agreement so extremely one-sided, unfair, or oppressive that it "shocks the conscience" of the court, often due to vastly unequal bargaining power. Such contracts are typically unenforceable, with courts potentially invalidating specific clauses or the entire agreement. Is it possible for men to legally argue that their marriage was an unconscionable contract in divorce proceedings and nullify the damages?
