Elbows Up Café? 🙄 Me: Hi, I’ll have an Americano please. Server: Oh we call that a Canadiano here. Me: That’s fine. We can call it what you want to but I’ll take an Americano if you’re serving it. I don’t play into anti American bigotry. Server: Coming right up.

Not to beat a very dead horse, but this is why administering elections should be done by parliamentary agencies and enforcing the law should be done under an AG/dir of public prosecutions model. Mr Poilievre’s elections act amendments did this, federally, and Mr Trudeau undid that.

I warned Elections Alberta about the potential Centurion Initiative data breach on March 31. They did Sweet FA for almost a month. My latest: open.substack.com/pub/theline/p/…

This is my first interview with Pierre. I asked 9 rapid-fire questions, in less than 90 seconds. Bro is so chill. No one can ever make me not like him. He’s our guy.

Mark Carney and the Liberals just got their majority but may lose it again during the summer as Jonathan Wilkinson and Nate Erskine-Smith are leaving federal politics. Conservatives should push hard to trip up Carney's hold on government. youtu.be/V-z2ooQYYRU

Btw this could be a winnable by-election riding for Conservatives. Wilkinson was personally popular but this has been a Conservative/Alliance riding in the past. And Avi Lewis and the NDP are going to run very hard at any Lower Mainland riding there is a byelection in. Avi may run himself. CPC needs a really eye-catching candidate in this riding and dump $150,000 into the campaign. It will be a close 3-way race.

Today, I’ve accepted the Prime Minister’s invitation to serve as Canada’s Ambassador to the European Union. I take on this role for the same reason I entered public life: to serve Canada. Thank you for your trust, your candour, and your belief that we can always do better. Read my full message here: open.substack.com/pub/jonathanwi…

STATEMENT FROM THE CENTURION PROJECT: The Centurion Project was established to train volunteers to be better citizens by partaking in the political process. Volunteers utilized the Centurion App database to find people they know. They did not have access to phone numbers or emails. The Centurion Project relied on a third party to provide us with datasets for this tool. The Centurion Project is aware of recent allegations regarding the app’s data. We have taken action to shutdown the app until we can ensure that the dataset is compliant with Alberta and Federal privacy laws. The Centurion Project plans to fully comply with Elections Alberta’s investigation.

@yus416 @wyatt_claypool @NolanWelshCA The fact you took the time to reply with something so braindead and out of touch with reality says a lot. CPC are miles away from being competitive here. Sorry the facts hurt your feelings.

"Wilkinson was personally popular but this has been a Conservative/Alliance riding in the past." Some individuals can make what used to be a swing riding a safe riding. Once they are gone it becomes a swing riding again. And if the NDP leader who is well know in Lower Mainland politics is running as the NDP candidate it will shift a lot of voters views of the race.

I have to say, it’s objectively surreal: one year after the media, Liberals, NDP, and left-wing advocacy groups tried to destroy my political candidacy over a four-year-old tweet saying Canada isn’t a genocide state, BC Conservative leadership candidates are now tripping over themselves to say the exact same thing - and no one bats an eye. It goes to show just how quickly things can change in culture and politics. History tells us there is never a wrong time to tell the truth. The truth always prevails and it is up to all of us in public life to have the political courage to speak that truth at the exact moments when it is most difficult to do so.

@Anthony__Koch The funniest part about this tweet is that if you shut the fuck up once in a while instead of being a pick-me terminally online culture warrior, ppl might actually give a shit. They don't bc you've proven to be an unreliable, shape-shifting messenger on far too many occasions.

@sarkonakj Why don't you mock the bloviating candidates who didn't have to spine to say a word about it LOL, hugely embarrassing for a party to flake on what's clearly the central issue of the leadership campaign

It seems that every BC Conservative leadership candidate is united in their disdain for “safer supply,” and I can’t help but feel that this is, indirectly, one of my greatest journalistic achievements — to have helped shift the national zeitgeist on this policy so profoundly.

@AmazingZoltan @Prominent_Bryan ...but they didn't lmao.. Stop falling for this bullshit, they are simply riling up the base to win leadership votes before moderating back to an actual winnable strategy in the general. Aka not alienating 20-30% of voters from the jump.

@Prominent_Bryan They didn't even have to stand up. They could've just said, "the fact we opened the debate with a land acknowledgment says more than I ever could."

Imagine if one of the candidates had just stood up during the land acknowledgment and said "no, we aren't doing this" Wouldn't this have scored a ton of point with the voters they are targeting?
