Former techniker and crass materialist. The truth doesn't need an army of defenders. Why follow the science if the science follows the money?

@chinafutureclub Cold and snow are a big problem in Canada. Plus our labor laws, aboriginal craziness and political squabbling would drive up costs. We can't afford it since our oil stays in the ground. And we sure don't need it in the least. Plus - who really wants to go to QC that badly?

High speed rail is simply better than flying. I can decide right now to visit another city and roll up to the train station 10 minutes before departure. I can watch scenery, walk around and have full phone signal the entire journey. The HSR experience is just better!

@TrueFactsStated Its a preliminary test of the delivery system. When they get confidence in the equipment they will go back and land. NASA went all bureaucratic and lost the edge. What they DID have, they poured into the space shuttle. When that petered out, they fizzled for a long time.

So Artimis is flying around the moon but 50 years ago we were landing astronauts on the moon. What am I missing?

@thehill Ah, bullshit. >15,000 sorties and 4 jets hit? They have more jets lost in training accidents or mechanical failure in peacetime. In WW2 pilots were lucky to fly 50 missions.

@EricRStPierre Lucien Bouchard said "Canada is not a real country". Justin said that Canada is "post national". When were we obsolete? From day 1 when confederation was set up to give most of the power to provinces. Everything about Canada is about bad compromise. Plus our rickety parliament

@esglaude @baptist_news We don't really know what went on with this Army chief of chaplains. But likely he let on that he wasn't on board with administration's program. So, if you are on general staff, you resign or wait to get fired.

⛔️Dear followers, do you know that Hegseth has now irresponsibly removed a string of senior military leaders across every branch of the armed forces during war‼️

@flypurplehazeMT @NotAvgLiberal If you are on general staff, you'd better be with the team and with the program. Or you are gone. BTW, Harry Truman, a marginally successful haberdasher, fired Gen. Douglas McArthur who was near demi-god status. Because McArthur thought he knew better.

@Frostback4 @NotAvgLiberal Right - because a reality TV star who bankrupt multiple businesses and a Fox "news" host have the more reliable decision making capability than a man who has served his country his adult life as a military member.

@BillKristol The worst kind of general to have in the high command is one who takes the salary and secretly won't support the program. Can't be counted on to follow orders. In the old days, this stuff was dealt with more harshly. Russia provides a large number of examples.

“George’s replacement, Gen. Christopher LaNeve, is Hegseth’s former military assistant. The Army officer I spoke with said LaNeve ‘doesn’t have a great reputation.’ LaNeve won favor with a video call congratulating Trump on his election victory.” washingtonpost.com/opinions/2026/…

@sookemonitor @CTVNews Do you believe that? USA is the world's reserve currency still. And with 11 carrier groups, huge effective military, big population with natural geographic advantages, know how, and self sufficiency - I don't think USA is going down the toilet anytime soon.

@Frostback4 @NotAvgLiberal Yeah, but these were people Trump picked himself. They weren’t the “Deep State,” they were his people. And remind me, what did Caesar do to the Republic?

LOL, and yet it echoes the sentiments of 40 of 44 former members of Trump’s cabinet who refused to endorse him for re-election. Multiple generals called him a “moron,” a fascist, a deeply-flawed man, and the most dangerous person to ever inhabit the White House. Fucking figure it out.

Mike Levin@MikeLevin·
The Army Chief of Staff, a combat veteran with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, asked Pete Hegseth why he was blocking the promotions of two Black officers and two female officers who had earned them. Hegseth refused to answer. Then he fired him. Nine U.S. officials told NBC News that Hegseth has blocked or delayed promotions for more than a dozen Black and female senior officers across all four branches of the military. Hegseth has now fired or sidelined more than a dozen generals and admirals. He is an out-of-control, unqualified former TV host and nobody in the Republican Party will say a word about it because they don’t want to make Trump angry. nbcnews.com/politics/natio…

@MikeLevin Last fall, Hegseth rounded up the generals in US forces in one meeting. They were flown in from all over the globe. He gave a hard speech about warrior ethos and lethality. The generals look like the pooh poohed the speech. Turns out he wasn't kidding. DEI and woke - nope.

The U.S. Military should arrest Trump, Vance and Hegseth. All three have shown they're unfit to lead. Lock them in a cell.

@sunlorrie As time goes on the Libs will tax more and more to keep up social programs and foreign aid. And new pipelines would have helped cash flow but no business case.... The squeeze on voters is just being felt. ALL line items on gov. spending will have to be examined. ALL.
