Thereโs a difference btwn people who move to London and make it their home, and people who move to London to be โin their ldn era xxโ. They donโt care about locals, displacement, community, city/area-specific issues. They donโt volunteer or engage with local groups etc.

The first thing I noticed visiting the southern American states: people there know what freedom is. It was palpable. I realised for the first time in my life how subtly un-free Britain feels. And I wonder if some Brits donโt want to be free, because theyโve never tasted it.

@james_hatts I feel sorry for all retail staff at this time of year - aside from working their arses off they have to endure an endless cycle of some of the worst pop music ever recorded, sometimes from November right up to December 24th. At least customers can escape or wear earplugs

Combined with increase in remote working, we'd probably have seen a chunk more Brits leaving.
There were valid leave arguments, immigration ones were ill-thought through.

Alone it doesn't tell the whole story as you well put, but source countries and absolute numbers wouldn't be in the same stratosphere without.
