@davidyelland We were already "pushed apart" by our politicians long before Elon became a word. And Musk is not about profit but progress. Profit will come, as it has, if progress was made. Don't be so cynical. What have we got to lose by giving him a chance in SA? We've lost most already.

What has Elon Musk taken from you? So ask many including Andrew Neil. Here's the answer: He has taken our peace of mind. He has purposefully pushed us apart, divided us further and profited from our loss of community. And that is hard to ever forgive.

@Ora_Tyl @GWannenbur15690 @Paledian I disagree. Elon, like most USA based companies in SA, are not willing to "donate 30%" to useless cadres. They will rather do (and it is part of our investment/B-BBEE legislation) equitable social investment. Ergo Elon's offer of R500mil investment in poor schools' infrastructure

There's no contradiction. He follows US law because he has to. He's currently trying not to follow SA law by pressuring the government to waive BEE ownership rules for Starlink. That's not about "equity vs equality", that's a billionaire lobbying for an exemption from our sovereign legislation. The US has laws. He follows them. SA has laws. He's fighting them. The difference isn't about philosophical distinctions between equity and equality, it's that he thinks our laws shouldn't apply to him because he's Elon Musk and we're just "looted, open borders nightmare" South Africa. It tells me exactly who he is. A man who respects laws when they suit him and weaponises his platform against countries that refuse to bend. The state isn't "far more powerful" in practice, the state is just trying to enforce the rules, and he's got the world's biggest megaphone telling his followers the state is corrupt for asking.

SpaceX builds a factory in South Africa just for control because we’ve showed Elon love and also did away with policies and attitudes that divide us, AA style and Kiss the Boer. Elon then shows deep respect to his fellow South Africans. He invests $100Bn into our economy. Which is about R1.7 Trillion or about 25% of our GDP. Putting that into a multiplier I’m pretty sure we could get unemployment down to 15% in a few years and end extreme poverty. Number of poor blacks could be reduced super significantly. But it won’t happen because if left wing politicians let the masses realise politicians are useless and investors are useful, they will ditch them. So they will work on whatever campaign it takes to cause divisions. So Elon Musk will always be our enemy. It’s sad.

@Ora_Tyl @GWannenbur15690 @Paledian "looted open borders nightmare" is exactly what SA has become. Not so? BTW, I am enjoying the debate between you and Gail. Measured, civil and informative. Not like the rest of the "dumpster fire"!!!!

Gail, "we need both" is just the old argument with a polite bow on it. You conceded the state is necessary, then immediately made Musk the centerpiece again as if the two are equal partners. Musk hires every race because his workforce is in America, where equal employment law applies, not because Elon is Desmond Tutu with a rocket. His "track record" in South Africa is calling us a "looted, open borders nightmare" and his bull shit Starlink campaign over ownership rules he doesn't like. A man who can't respect the sovereignty of a country he claims to love isn't going to be your equal partner in development, he's going to be your next fight when he decides the terms don't suit him.

I will forever by grateful to Elon Musk for sharing AfriForum's documentary about race laws, the threat of expropriation without compensation, and farm murders in South Africa, and rocketing it to 43+ million views 🚀
Elon Musk@elonmusk

South Africa has now passed 142 laws forcing discrimination against anyone who is not black! Even though I was born in South Africa, the government will not grant @Starlink a license to operate simply because I am not black. This is a shameful disgrace to the legacy of the great Nelson Mandela who sought to have all races treated equally in South Africa.

@Daxisprodigy @RadioRaps Maybe adjust your measurement metric. 99,99 9999% of people do not earn, in many a LIFETIME, what Elon earned in a minute, on 1 day - 12/06/26. There, now the perspective looks clearer.

@RadioRaps Musk is a beast. Trillionaire with a capital T. Instead of hating, we should be celebrating. This guy is driving the world forward. The haters clocking in to earn in a year what Elon makes in a minute must hate.

You have a personal opinion about his motives, I respect that, I disagree, so now it’s a debate, but it’s a debate you are willing to have on the platform belonging to the same guy who you claim has bad motives, thereby supporting his bad motives. Why don’t you create your own app? You can fund it by manipulating the system and fund the poor and suffering ?

I know it’s hip to hate on South Africa right now, but when it comes to Bafana Bafana, I think it’s important to know HOW to hate, which in fact obviates the need for hatred because you know, why bother? South Africa should be a soccer powerhouse. Why is it not?

@partnerups @MosaRoccoII Are you referring to Dingabe's impis killing 70 boers and their 30 Khoikhoi servants when they came in peace to uMgungundlovu to negotiate for land and the Afrikaners then fucked them over at the Battle of Blood River? Is that the fuckover of the zulus you are referring to?

No African is illegal in Africa. If you believe that an African can be illegal in Africa then you are not a revolutionary. We must reject the notion of an illegal foreigner. Africans can be undocumented but they cannot be illegal.

A recent study found that some South African companies spend more on race law compliance than they earn in profit, with one firm paying 307% of its annual profit to achieve Level 2 BEE status. Race laws are destroying the South African economy and jobs. dailyinvestor.com/business/13825…

BREAKING: HELL YES! Albania strikes a crushing blow against Jared Kushner's corrupt private island development by FREEZING the bank accounts of a major company tied to the project. And it gets even better... According to Albanian reporter Lindita Cela, the nation's anti-corruption prosecutors have frozen the accounts of a landholding company involved in Kushner's $4 billion luxury resort plans. The move comes as massive protests sweep the country, with local residents incensed at the idea of Ivanka and Jared gobbling up coveted real estate to create a vacation spot for the Epstein Class. The slogan “Albania Is Not for Sale" has been spreading like wildfire and clashes between police and protestors are increasing in intensity. The asset seizure was ordered by the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime and is part of a broader investigation into possibly fraudulent property titles. Suspiciously, the company in question is owned by Qatari oligarchs Moutaz and Ramez Al-Khayyat. Kushner's ties to dirty Gulf money are well-established. They blossomed during his time in the first Trump administration, where he twisted American foreign policy to benefit specific actors in the region in return for massive investments and business advantages. This deal is rotten all the way to the core. The Al-Khayyats have snatched up property along a protected stretch of coastline of the Adriatic Sea and it's here and on a nearby island that Kushner intends on erecting his resort for the top 1% of the top 1%. Given what we know about the Trump family, it's safe to presume that the development will serve as a paradise for pedophiles, war criminals, and human traffickers. But this time, Jared bit off more than he can chew. Albanians are a proud, defiant people. They've survived centuries of larger regional powers seeking to divide their land, rewrite their history, and erase their culture. They're not going to let one greedy businessman defeat them now. We stand with Albania! Kushner out! Ivanka out! Do you stand with the Albanian people? Please ❤️ and share to demand more investigations into Kushner!
