@Chris_H_Politic Well those centrists are shmucks. What we don't want are the authoritarian leftists. Extremists. Just look what extremists have done to the Republican party. It is probably comatose after 2029. But we need each other in our messed up winner-take-all system.

Centrists will say progressives should have their own party instead of running as Democrats, but if we ran against them in a GE, they would 100% blame progressives for “letting Republicans win.”

Democratic Socialists shouldn’t be running in Democratic primaries, just like Republicans shouldn’t be running in Democratic primaries. Our party continues to allow this at our own peril.

@MaxAbrahms UGH stfu. I don't ever want to hear anything about supporting damaged candidates from a Republican after these past 10 years. Anything you say is laughable compared to what you have nominated and supported. Just look at Trump and his cabinet.

What’s the lesson of Dems rallying behind tattoo guy? A lot of people are understandably concluding that Dems have a lot of antisemites. But it also shows how transparently and soullessly partisan Democrat leaders are. They will literally support a Nazi fan for a party win.

Still wild that Elon set his reputation on fire for a political side quest that looks completely futile. Republicans will likely lose the midterms, Trump will end up being a lame duck with no real power, and Elon spent over $250 million just to become more disliked by the people who used to admire him. What was the point?

The public thinks Trump is a failure in his second term, and it's bleeding into how he handles every issue. At a certain point in Bush's second term, they also thought he was a failure as well. It never changed. At some point the political reporters will get over their access journalism and understand he gives them so much access to shape a daily narrative that avoids the obvious conclusion that he's failing.

@realCarola2Hope Yeah because there are so many things to do now. You don't need to go out and get laid. Kids are expensive and you're giving up all your freedom for 18+ years as soon as you get married so expect it to keep going down.

Sperm counts down 51.6%. Testosterone down 60%. Birth rates in total collapse. By 2030, nearly half of women aged 25–44 will have zero children and stay single. This is civilizational suicide happening right in front of us. We are sterilizing ourselves into extinction. It boggles my mind that there’s no major campaign in the West to reverse this, and importing people from other continents is not the answer. Wake up and fix it NOW, before it’s too late.

@SweetFnLucifer Bet your life? I don't know. I've got exactly 0 faith in my fellow Americans after 11/5/24. I mean they picked Trump...again. AGAIN, after he danced on stage and was found liable for rape... We're sick and diseased and we voted to kill ourselves on the world stage.

Roy Cooper is gonna win. James Talarico is gonna win. Graham Platner is gonna win. Mary Peltola is gonna win. Sherrod Brown is going to fucking win. I'd bet my life Democrats win the Senate. Rendering Fetterman obsolete and keeping Thomas & Alito's seats safe for Dem Justices.

Biggest "the kids are fucked" moment I've had recently was buying a car Walked into the dealership, told them what I wanted and said I'd pay up-front. Expected them to be thrilled Instead they were horrified. Spent the next 20 minutes trying to get me to finance it at some absurd rate Got me curious so after I left I read about car sale profit models. Apparently most US dealerships make more financing now than from the cars themselves I was such a boomer I assumed they'd want CASH In reality they want your ETERNAL SLAVERY at 19% APR

@NateBlanchett It would make sense in a parliamentary system. In our system, it would be suicide. It is how Woodrow Wilson, one of the worst Presidents in history, was elected. It is how George W Bush got elected at least once. We would yell spoiler, of course. We have a bad system.

Imagine how furious people who make this argument would be if Democratic Socialists actually started running third party across the country. They would yell SPOILER, fight tooth & nail to ensure Dem Socs didn’t get ballot access, and blame the third party run for Dems losing.

The climate might be so bad for republicans that Platner wins regardless, but the voters of Maine haven’t yet been bombarded with ads highlighting his tattoo + volumes of problematic Reddit posts. GOP is going to pour tens of millions into that race. It is going to be brutal.

@ChrisWickNews Back when you were just a sucker who ignored all of his lies about the birth certificate evidence and believed all his lies about draining the swamp and building a wall. Now you're just a bigger sucker. That's what being all in on Trump means. You're a sucker. He relies on you.

Not gonna lie… I miss when being all in on Trump actually felt like standing for truth. Back when it was about draining the swamp. Back when accountability mattered. Now? Ask the wrong questions… and suddenly you’re the problem. Demand real answers… and you get shut out. That’s the shift no one wants to admit. It’s not about left vs right anymore. It’s about who’s allowed to question — and who gets silenced. And once you see that… There’s no going back.

@johnhawkinsrwn Yeah? The exact same game? You're going to wait for Democrats to start a gerrymandering war? You going to ask the people of the state for a referendum? It is annoying how ignorant you are of what your own party did to start this. Plus, you'll never ask people to vote on it.

This is the what the map looks like if Republicans play the same game Democrats just played in Virginia. That is exactly the game I want to play. They're already playing this game. They're already playing by these rules. Let's play the same game and do it better.

Republican voters spread across suburbs and rural counties win 𝟓𝟓-𝟒𝟓 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐬 — maximally efficient distribution. Combined with state-level Republican control of Texas, Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and the Sun Belt generally, the GOP can draw fewer wasted-vote districts. If Platner was actually a Nazi, the GOP is right there, he could have easily run as a Republican and they’d happily accept him. The idea that he chose to run as a progressive democrat, so that he could get in there and start acting on some secretly held Nazi ideology is not plausible to me. Idk what to believe about the tattoo, but I do believe that he regrets it and that the values he espouses now show that regret to be genuine. Is Platner my preferred genre of candidate? Absolutely not. Does it piss me off that white men are offered significantly more grace than women and POC candidates would ever be? Absolutely yes. But the fact remains that Maine Democrats chose him to represent their interests in Washington and that means the party should support him.

You know, in the Book "I am Legend" the Vampire people are intelligent, mostly normal people. But Robert Neville just didn't know that. And that why became a monster to them. For me, Book Ended worked for the Book. But it didn't work for me in this movie. Because these people were Dumb Zombie that were barely human anymore. Had this vague idea of what love was. Its not worth Neville throwing away Humanity Future over that. That why people hated it.
