Because Donald Trump repeatedly and falsely claimed that the FBI was responsible for inciting the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, alleging that the bureau "secretly placed" hundreds of agents into the crowd. And his dumb ass supporters although they knew it was a lie voted for him anyway.

Until my final breath I will never understand how January 6th wasn't an instant dealbreaker for every single American voter
