The Trojan War is usually dated to the beginning of this phase (1190bc) corresponding to the Destruction Layer at Troy VII. Mycenaean Pottery diversifies greatly, the Civilization becomes overall more Depopulated than the preceeding period, and Pottery styles from the north start appearing in Mycenaean Settlements, however the Civilization continued on and we can not speak of Invaders from outside of Mycenaean Civilization being responsible for the destruction, but rather internal conflict. During this Period, the Philistines would have embarked from Mainland Greece or Crete to the Levant, realizing the long established and intense trade connections between the two lands established in the prior periods to invade the Levant and establish themselves.

The Maturing of Mycenaean Civilization: The LHIIIa, starting in 1420bc, is when Mycenaean Civilization truly starts to flourish. Colonies are Established around the entire Aegean, Thessaly is fully integrated and Epirus starts to be as well. Mycenaean-style Settlements start to appear in the Levant in great number and Trade with Egypt and Sicily intensifies. Minoa is integrated, Linear B starts being used extensively, Palaces are expanded and political power stratifies. This is the beginning of the Mature phase of the Mycenaean Civilization, the point at which it stops being a fringe culture on the edge of the Ancient World and starts to becoming an integral Military and Economic power in the Mediterranean, even wrestling with the Hitties over Western Anatolia.
