@deltaIV9250 I imagined it as. MOF (metal organic framework, chemistry that recently won the Nobel prize). They're highly functionalizable cage-like crystals that can absorb gas and are popular on the nanotech field. You can presumably do whatever you want with them.

@besttrousers @Jerod_Frank @evanwch @ThompsoncreekW I've read in a RAND report (can't find) there's a 5% decrease in living cost for the top 3 quartiles and a 5% decrease in income for the bottom. Increase pop creates future citizens. 1st Gen immigrants are extra productive so this seems like a good deal in moderate quantities.

If you recently followed me because I called out the horrendous murder of Alex Pretti, please know that the reason I am against mass illegal immigration is because it devalues the wages of American workers, drains our social safety net of finite resources, and creates resentment when migrants are given medical & rental assistance & Americans whose families have been here for generations have seen their economic position decline in every possible way. It also fundamentally undermines core ideas I believe in, like universal healthcare

The Taiwanese I know assimilated well with the US: our liberalism, LGBTQ, sports. China must develop culturally before Taiwan is willing to take them back

@theguiltlessman @David_J_Bier I live here 10 yrs and the median income is 82k/yr. Never seen a violent crime and I live downtown. It's ranked #5 for life expectancy which is crazy because we are heavy drinkers due to the winters and boat life

Spoke on background with two attorneys who have defended officer involved shootings. Both have always taken their cases to trial. After reviewing the events today, both said if it were their client they’d advise: -Seek a plea deal -Be willing to plead guilty to a lesser crime or a lower sentence -Accept anything that isn’t de jure LWOP (life with out parole) In other words, the guys who defend police officers shooting for a living, think this case is unwinnable. They would try to defend his actions, they’d just try and lower the impact of the outcome. Their main sticking point were: -“I could argue shot number one and hope for an acquittal or a hung jury - but I can’t get there on shots 2 and 3” -“A jury will not get passed the turning of the wheels” -“Denying medics throws self defense out the window”
