@Hot_Pepper76 @gkovo6 The novel is a LOT darker than the TV show, but excellent. The movie is closer to the book than the TV show. Both IMO, of course. I’d highly recommend the book, the movie was meh to me. And yes, I’m old.

@TurnBucklBBQ Not sure what ‘passed up’ means. I go SPG and my family and friends love it. I’m not cooking comp (and that’s not a comp brisket), so I guess I’m in the buggy. Maybe my grandson will pass me in a Porsche in a few years. 😀

@meathead I used to make a variant of Melissa Kingston’s rub for my ribs. Then I found Heath’s products, and now I use them most of the time, along with some Meat Church stuff as a changeup. The combo of garlic/jalapeño and championship rub is my favorite sweet rib. My wife’s, too.

Nobody, but nobody cooks ribs better than Heath Riles. If you are addicted to a rub or a sauce, do not under any circumstances try his because you’ll never go back.

@chisledtip24 @BleacherNation Yeah, the new contract puts more pressure on. But, you KNOW you’re gonna get great D. Even at .220 he’ll still steal 30 and several runs for you with his speed. I don’t know if it’s .220 or .240. I do know it’s long season, and a longer 6 years.

@GrillinFool @ar_steve It’s not really gimmick I guess. It’d work fine. I’d be more likely to use my grill, though, or a broiler. So the ‘are you really tryin’’ thing is a bit overboard. And for ribs, I’m more likely to be just setting the sauce, not caramelizing it.

@ar_steve You think caramelizing a sweet glaze on ribs is a stupid gimmick? Did you criticize someone using the word "moar?" 🤣🤣 I'd explain the food science behind the torch, but I doubt you would be able to understand. It's probably MOAR than you can handle.
