Let’s talk H1B. In March 2024, I got a call. My job was gone. So was everyone else's. Infosys didn't replace one or two of us. They replaced the whole department. Every. Single. One. Their guy chose to keep his friends employed over American workers. This isn't a story. It's a playbook. The SAVE America Act — requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote — has been stalled on the Senate floor because Democrats are running out the clock with a talking filibuster. Sixty votes to break it. Democrats have pledged never. Schumer said so out loud. Senator John Kennedy just said: fine. Try reconciliation. Reconciliation only needs 50 votes plus the Vice President. That's how Republicans passed the One Big Beautiful Bill. Kennedy's argument is blunt and honest: 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥. Nobody has sat down with the best legislative lawyers in the country and tried to engineer a version of the SAVE Act that survives a Byrd Rule challenge. Kennedy has been in the Senate ten years. He's watched provisions he thought were dead sail through the parliamentarian — and slam dunks get killed. You don't know until you try. Here's the Byrd Rule hurdle in plain English: anything passed through reconciliation has to have a real, direct budgetary effect — not incidental, not indirect. A voter ID provision as written is an election integrity measure. To survive the parliamentarian, lawyers would need to craft it so its budgetary impact is central, not peripheral. That's hard. It may not be possible. But Kennedy's point is that no one has seriously attempted it with the right legal minds in the room. Democrats have spent weeks betting that the filibuster wall holds forever. Kennedy just suggested Republicans haven't exhausted their options. Watching footage from spring break 40 years ago compared to nowadays is so depressing.😖😭

Step 1.) Charge your 18+ year old child Rent and Board Step 2.) Keep that money in a savings account Step 3.) When they get a job and are able to function as an adult in an apartment for a reasonable amount of time, use that money to help them put a down payment on a home to start building equity. The goal is to help your kids to become functioning adults, not punish them.

Their 18 year old daughter just graduated a few weeks ago. Her parents thought they were being fair for not kicking her out at 18 but they are kicking her out after she graduates. They told her if she wanted to stay, effective June 1st, she would have to start paying them $200 a month plus the costs of her own food. If she wanted the rent with meal plan, it’s $300 a month and she can eat from their fridge. They feel they are teaching her responsibility in a controlled environment. I think the amount they are charging is reasonable and fair, it’s still cheaper than being on her own. Do you think this is too expensive too cheap, or do the just hate their kid?
