@MrsParanandi @Grenfellnextkin @insidehousing @jester That's a good question. Generally, when one journalist does a news write up of another's interview with additional quotes and reporting, you wouldn't joint byline it but you would credit and link - which is what we all agreed pre-publication.

Sadiq Khan’s officials suppressed taxpayer-funded research that showed LTNs do not reduce car use TfL chose not to publish the study after it found the traffic relocation schemes helped increase cycling but failed to encourage people to use their cars less or walk more 🧵

@ColdWarCliff Cycle lane is great on the main road, but I am not convinced by the bi-directional design for such a short stretch, esp when there should be fewer obstacles in the bus lane following the works (& the bus lanes on this stretch are generally good for cycling anyway)

The Streatham cycleway works have started and there is a signed cyclist diversion via the LTN which demonstrates the issues of extra distance and complexity (requiring loads of signage) that backstreet cycle routes create.

So the transport experts at SEJ have had a think and decided that the A23 cycle route should be on 'adjacent much quieter roads'. There are a few significant issues with that - 1) there aren't any adjacent roads. Doubles the time and added 60% to distance.

A car crashed into a lamppost on a #Streatham street on Wednesday after hitting a broken drain cover that residents have been reporting to the council for nearly two months. Emergency services attended, and the female driver was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm.

Today is Full @lambeth_council and also marks 1,168 days since I was elected as Lambeth Councillor for #Streatham St. Leonard's ward. 1,168 days and I've still not been permitted to make my maiden speech or even ask a Councillor's Question to Cabinet. 🧵

Today marks exactly 1,000 days since I was elected as Lambeth Councillor of #Streatham St. Leonard's Ward. 1,000 days and I've still not made my Maiden Speech or been called to ask a Councillors Question. I refuse to be silenced

Water your local street trees to help keep them hydrated in the hot weather 💦 Extra watering is needed to help our street trees survive in the heat 🌡️ You can use saved rainwater or ‘grey water’ from the shower, bath, paddling pools, or even washing up ♻️

@StrWellsLTNEye @RossLeBrun @monk3ybarz @andrewellson Our bus journey to school often went from 20 to 60+ mins - if the bus arrived at all. Many terminated early having been stuck in displaced traffic. Many parents were also concerned about increased pollution outside the many schools negatively impacted by the streatham wells ltn

Labour's reverse ferret list, an illustration of the idiocy of making policy based on what polls well, rather than what actually works - winter fuel payments - non-doms - grooming gangs enquiry - disability benefits? VAT on school fees is about the only thing that's stuck

@DavidBurgess73 @PS_YNWA @andrewellson @TfL The TfL works will make everything horrible for a while; and who knows impact once done with its mad bike lane etc. But as things stand, I'd argue it's been broadly accepted. Certainly not the Wells/WD opposition. Bigger point is that the Lambeth approach makes everything a mess.

@MrsParanandi @PS_YNWA @andrewellson Streatham Hill less impact on High Road for now, but let's see when the @TfL works on A23 kick in. It's eerily quiet on the streets there, esp at night, and Amesbury Avenue residents/shops are currently fighting their own councillor!

Humiliation for Lambeth Council today as judge rules it must: – Tear down the West Dulwich LTN which it implemented unlawfully by ignoring residents’ legitimate concerns – Pay campaigners' court costs (£35k) The judge also blocked Lambeth from appealing Full story incoming

@PS_YNWA @andrewellson This shows Lambeth's folly. The Streatham Hill LTN works, imo as a local. Better for cycling, & wider impact far less egregious than eg Wells LTN. Clearly not all agree. But had council consulted properly & respected the range of views, there'd be more goodwill from all sides.

@andrewellson Please can people who have some influence get this looked into. Locals are getting screwed with longer journeys and thus spending more on fuel unnecessarily simply to get to and from home. They can't get away with using Covid as the reason to implement it.

Good to see Lambeth being held to account for its conduct. A shame it's come at such expense, to many local people in many circumstances and to the taxpayers footing the bill for Lambeth's incompetence and disregard.

Pinfold Road, #Streatham Wells today. @limebike neatly parked up to completely block pavement. Scooter bay literally opposite. I don’t know why people would do this…🤷🏻
