Saw a huge number of these US versions of the Kia K4 while in California. These pics don’t show it adequately, but it has that look of a car that has been built on the platform of a much smaller one. In reality the wheels sit really far inboard of the body. Awful thing.

Aeroback Style After two oil shocks in the #1970s GM knew it had to downsize its cars. The Aeroback style was tried in 1978. It cut down ordinary cars into hatchbacks, trying to compromise. The public hated it. In 1980 the Aeroback style was dropped.

@SpeedSportLife Besides the fact that it looks terrible and the functionality is undoubtedly poor, I would imagine that as the miles pile up a huge tacked on screen like that will creak and rattle over every road imperfection.

I saw this picture of a Mazda interior on my feed, and I assumed it was an exaggerated Photoshop someone made to mock the size of car screens now, but no, this is really the interior of the new Mazda CX-6e, and it makes me viscerally angry.

@reggiefilms May I ask a question? I’ve owned cars before with pano roofs and I enjoy the light during cooler months. But during the summer I always felt the heat radiating thru even with the shade closed. Do Tesla’s have shades or some other mechanism to deal with this?

I've never seen a car hold up this well after so many miles. I'm at 172k and my car is in immaculate condition. No maintenance and no problems whatsoever except minor work done before my warranty expired. I'll never drive anything other than a Tesla

@RetroCoast Most of this is incorrect. This generation came out in 1980 not 81. By 1982 the full size cars were Town Cars and the Continental name was moved to the new smaller Seville competitor.

1982 Lincoln Continental In 1981 the famous Continental was downsized to the "Panther Platform" body. But it still retained its boxy good looks. With rear wheel drive and a 302 V8 it provided power and class during the Malaise Years. #1980s

@deadlinedom @washghost1 My point is to do whatever suits you to your own home regardless of whatever a future buyer may or may not like. What might seem “top appeal” to you might seem laughably dated in a few years to a prospective buyer. So why worry about it?
