@disrupthehuman I saw this post earlier but missed the year listed and thought 'guy musta loved Samurai Jack'.
English

it's so beautiful that you can just so clearly see the inspiration for samurai jack up and down in this

@LocalBtnMasher On the flipside it's great that you can throw on super costumes in DMC3 and still die in like 3 hits. Of my top 5 CAGs that I'm currently playing on the highest difficulties it does top out as the tightest designed, depending on my feeling in the moment it dethrones God Hand too.
English

@LocalBtnMasher Too bad God Hand is still my all timer favorite.
English

@Adene_Z @PublicServant40 @HECU_snowfox Nah, it was a dedicated team of modelers, animators, artists, testers, and writers led by Masterz. Several members spun off at various points for various reasons and others are still working with him today.
English

@PublicServant40 @HECU_snowfox Wasn't SPV just one guy who asks other modders to use their assets in the game to expand the sandbox, pretty sure that what he used to do in custom edition
English

We've seen a CE Remake mod 'created by the fans.' It was abysmal dogshit.

Headstrong@ResEvilDude
If actual halo fans were allowed to create the remake, it would be a massive hit.
English

@JynMarus @ZanderDSOW @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV I'm not, I'm pretty happy with how it looks and plays from what I've seen, but I think trying to find excuses to shut down critique that can positively inform the meaningful gameplay elements and direction for the future of the series by influencers close to the studio is lame.
English

@Pounding_Qs @ZanderDSOW @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV So you're just looking for something to critique the game for. Got it.
English

@JynMarus @ZanderDSOW @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV So a movement mechanic doesn't have a meaningful effect on your movement, shouldn't that be a critique worth leveling towards the game?
English

@Pounding_Qs @ZanderDSOW @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV The movement speed is not faster overall so no it wouldn't be easier.
And no it wouldn't work on legendary where you get 1 shotted.
English

@JynMarus @ZanderDSOW @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV So you don't think sprint can make skipping encounters even easier than before? I dont see how bringing up a failing of the original's aggression (granted, not showcasing this strat on legendary is telling) justifies adding more to further trivialize the challenge.
English

@DestinedHex @bentoDRAWS I cant reply to alex atm but thats also my view, Halo itself has a long history of people saying that legendary is under/overtuned in a variety of ways that bottleneck routing and weapon choices and its also a very valid complaint.
English

@CorellianAlex @Pounding_Qs @bentoDRAWS Not too relevant to the Halo discussion, and I know I'm being pedantic.
But a difficulty option can be too hard if the devs didn't scale it properly. The difficulty spike between Normal and Hard in some games, especially older titles; was ABSURD.
English

Even as someone who disagrees with the “sprint ruins halo” take, I know that him using the intended base mechanics is absolutely the correct thing to do as a reviewer.
Joey 🇵🇦@JohanzelV

English

@JynMarus @ZanderDSOW @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV PvE balance is just as important as PvP balance.
English

@JynMarus @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV So if someone doesn't want to play the game with sprint they have to play an intentionally slower game with movement not balanced with no sprinting in mind. Sounds like a perfectly valid and worthwhile criticism to bring up then.
English

@Pounding_Qs @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV Didn't they actually reduce the movement speed overall? So none of this should matter.
English

@RoytaMustDie In 5 and Infinite its used as the delivery mechanism for sliding, which has borderline quake strafejump tech if you know it. in Reach and 4 its pretty significantly faster.
English

Like seriously for a second: what does sprint add? I always hear notes about "just don't press it" and "just disable it", but never what it adds to the Halo gameplay style? It feels put in because it has to be there since people are used to it happening when they press R3.
Thel@ThelVanDamne
“No sprint negatively impacts the gameplay as you can just run past enemy encounters like a retard”
English

@JynMarus @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV Enemy vehicles become easier to dodge and board with less risk, Hunters become easier to encircle, melee focused enemies are easier to get away from even in tight spaces. Most shooters design enemy aim to have limits to their aim tracking capabilities, sprint widens that limit.
English

@CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV Idk are you? What's the advantage? You can't even name it lol. You said mobility and speed. Yeah that's kind of what sprint does. But what advantage does that give you in a Halo Campaign?
English

@JynMarus @ZanderDSOW @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV Moving faster is an advantage in a movement centred first person shooter, in the same way jumping and crouching and thrusters and sliding among others are tools to throw off aim in their own ways.
English

@ZanderDSOW @CactusFuturist @messmerflame148 @JohanzelV ADS and sprint are not the same thing lol.
ADS gives you an obvious advantage against someone that isn't ADS.
Sprinting in Halo Infinite and now Campaign Evolved does not give you an advantage against anything. You just move a bit faster.
English

@Mikearice @bentoDRAWS Does the campaign not have maps designed around the players movement capabilities? Does it not have things to shoot that are meant to echo the pace of its peers?
English

@bentoDRAWS I'm a Sprint Ruins Halo guy but it genuinely does not apply to the campaign. It's a multiplayer mechanic only applicable to the sizing up of maps and the removal of the ability to shoot at all times that a classic arcade shooter is known for.
English

@CorellianAlex @bentoDRAWS True it's an option, but what's wrong with choosing to experience the game using what the developers envision the default experience to be? Especially when its for showcase and review purposes, some bloke showing off something he doesn't like that is there no matter what is fine.
English

@bentoDRAWS You can turn off sprinting. Like they made it an option. He's a hypocrite because he doesnt have to have a bad experience
English

@GamingButCursed Maybe I'm biased cause Infinite is my favorite elite design to date (as well as most of the covies) but I dont mind it, wouldve loved something more CE for the marines for sure though.
English

@LocalBtnMasher On a tangential note whats your impression of Cultic. It's been a recent favorite for me with the ammo management and how enemies interact with level design.
English

It has no end point either
FPS, the most dominant, popular, profitable, guranteed eternal existence genre
Is STILL dominated by people constantly asking "how do we casualize and simplify for the next batch of players?"
Blader@LocalBtnMasher
Its concerning how many conversations around genres center around making them more popular, instead of making them deeper
English

@Phantomtommy @P_AllensProfile @LocalBtnMasher Right, instead of paying like 10 bucks total on multiple games for as long as I like I'm paying a crisp 70 for 1 game.
English

@Pounding_Qs @P_AllensProfile @LocalBtnMasher The way you bought into arcade games and the way you buy into modern games are completely different. You know that, so I don't know why you're saying this to me.
English

METAL SLUG 1 ALL CLEAR/1CC
(Those last rocket barrages had me sweating, also thank you move selection RNG for making him spam nukes)
PhantomTommy@Phantomtommy
@hex186220 @LocalBtnMasher Try to 1cc a Metal Slug and tell me it's not unfair. The fact it CAN be done doesn't automatically make it fair.
English

@Phantomtommy @P_AllensProfile @LocalBtnMasher All games are designed to get your money, kinda the point of the price tags.
English

@P_AllensProfile @LocalBtnMasher Absolutely not, my point from the start was that these games were never designed for that. They are designed to get your money, because that's the entire model of the arcade industry. Now will "bruh" kindly stop talking to me?
English

@Phantomtommy @LocalBtnMasher @FinalMasonry What would make it unfair, putting in time to actually learn the systems and enemies of a game through trial and error is pretty normal for any game that wants to present an active challenge to the player.
English

@LocalBtnMasher @FinalMasonry Why we assuming anything anyway?I believe in the tweet (now deleted) you stated you allowed 3 credits per run, how many runs per hour? Anyway the metric we DO have is 23 hours for a flawless 20 minute game, and to you that's indicative of fair design.
