Filipino toxic gastronationalism has to be studied.
Every time a foreigner criticizes our food, ang bilis natin ma offend. Tapos hugot pa ng colonizer card to 1) shut them up and prevent dialogue 2) give ourselves permission to bully.
It's pathetic and screams insecurity.

@pollypocketmode @grnpointer what do you even know about Philippines' culture hahaha, stop talking, you sound really stupid. It's not a lot, but you just said a bunch of nonsense.
English

@RockSolidExp @grnpointer 4 sentences is a lot to you? That's not even a paragraph brother
English

@rainsopoetic @LTYokota Your culture is eating garbage. Go eat some pagpag and STFU
English

@pollypocketmode @grnpointer Imagine writing so much but saying so little
English

@RockSolidExp @grnpointer Is 4 sentences too much for you to read? Geez man
English

@RockSolidExp @grnpointer are you saying we have no culture? Because that's not how Culture works. Everywhere has culture. That's the whole thing with cultures
English

@pollypocketmode @grnpointer What do you even know about culture except school shootings?
English

@RockSolidExp @grnpointer you said "related to this topic except nukes and guns" which means you're saying nukes and guns are related to this topic
English

@RockSolidExp @grnpointer Wait how are nukes and guns related to this topic

@redbtkn Yeah. But still. Being a colony of Mexico all those years you would have thought they would have shared some of the chilis with you.

Thailand has sweeter food, Filipino cuisine heavily emphasizes seafood and vegetables, spice is characteristic of royal courts which the Spaniards took from us early. In terms of SEAsian food gradients between Indian and Chinese influence, the Philippines is also particularly...

Why is Filipino food so unlike the neighboring countries in SEA? Virtually no spice and everything sweet and no fresh herbs or veggies.

@SaladinAlDronni @sadarlo1 Bro is definitely one of the people who will shoot if someone sang My Way the wrong way in front of him
English

Filipinos are not nice people. We are a country full of bloodthirsty maniacs who will kill you over something silly…like singing Frank Sinatra at the karaoke bar all wrong.
Brian Lui@brianluidog
Every person from the Philippines I've met in real life is the nicest person ever. Twitter keeps showing me only insane retards though. Is twitter contributing to racism?
English

@gunboneyard @VeraAnastasiaH1 @jerrrrrrryyyyy The first statement is subjective. We dont use that magic sarap, in our household. Annatto is not being used in majority of the dishes that we offer either, I do not know where’d you get that. Herbs are not commonly used here because the dish does not call for it.
English

He's 100% right about the spice. it's a legitimate struggle finding one that uses more than annatto and magic sarap, if even that
He is wrong about vegetables. On herbs he's generally right. But most people who have a problem with what he said are arguing and saying that Filipino cuisine is very spiced and uses herbs, which it doesn't at all.
