Hello Senator Thune, At 3 AM on Friday, March 27th, in a near-empty chamber, you passed a bill by voice vote that excludes all funding for ICE and CBP. Let me repeat that: voice vote. No roll call. No record of who was there. No accountability. Just you, Barrasso, and a handful of senators shuffling paper in the dead of night while America slept. You could have demanded a recorded vote. You chose not to. You could have held the line for five more days until the House returned. You chose not to. You could have used the same procedural tools Democrats have used against you for 40 days. You chose not to. Instead, you gave Chuck Schumer exactly what he asked for, DHS funding minus immigration enforcement, and called it a win. Then you walked to the cameras and blamed the Democrats. Let's be precise about what you did: 1. You caved to a demand Democrats made on Day 1 of this shutdown. Forty-one days of supposed hardball negotiation, and you settled for their opening offer. 2. You handed them a template. The next time Democrats want to defund any agency — ICE, CBP, or anything else — they now know: just shut down DHS and wait. John Thune will fold at 3 AM. 3. You punted to reconciliation. "Good possibility," you said. Not "we will." Not "guaranteed." Just maybe. Meanwhile, ICE operates on fumes from last year's bill with no certainty of future funding. The precedent you set: You have argued for months that the filibuster is sacrosanct. That the 60-vote threshold protects minority rights. That we cannot bend Senate rules for policy wins. But at 3 AM on Friday, you bent every norm that actually mattered: • Voice vote to avoid accountability • Empty chamber to avoid debate • Midnight deal to avoid scrutiny • Immediate recess to avoid questions You'll bend the rules to avoid a fight. You just won't bend them to win one. What you've actually accomplished: Democrats demanded ICE restrictions. They got ICE defunded. Not reformed. Not restrained. Defunded. And you're out here tweeting about how Democrats are the "Defund the Police" party while you just voted to defund border enforcement at 3 in the morning. The question you should answer: Why did this deal have to happen at 3 AM? Why couldn't it happen at 3 PM, with cameras rolling and every senator on record? You know why. Because you didn't want your voters to see what surrender looks like. Here's my message: We saw it anyway. Stop hiding behind "Democrat obstruction." You're the Majority Leader. You set the schedule. You control the floor. You chose this outcome. Own it.

@NancyMace 13 states have approved single-subject applications specifically for a congressional term limits convention under Article V. South Carolina being one of the 13. Perhaps it is time for more Article V single-subject applications? Just a thought.

Where we are on TSA funding...The Senate unanimously decided to give in to Democrat demands to not fund ICE or CBP. They passed a bill by voice vote (which is why you saw them leaving town last night before the actual vote early this morning). The Senate sent it to the House to fund all of DHS except ICE and the Border Patrol (CBP), the agencies responsible for enforcing our immigration laws and removing criminal illegal aliens from the country. This surrender by Senate Republicans was passed in the middle of the night and then the entire Senate decided to go home for 2.5 weeks. This leaves the House with 3 undesirable options: (1) Pass the bill as is, cutting funding for U.S. immigration enforcement (2) Amend the bill to include funding for ICE and CBP and send it back to the Senate. Unfortunately given the Senate’s decision to take a 2.5-week vacation, the DHS shutdown would continue (3) Reject the bill, continuing the shutdown of DHS Given the Rules of the House, passing this bill as-is also has procedural barriers to overcome If there is bipartisan consensus behind a bill, typically the easiest way to pass the bill is under suspension of the rules. Under suspension of the rules, debate is limited to 40 minutes and it requires a 2/3 majority to pass. Unfortunately, clause 1(a) of Rule XV of the House provides “the Speaker may not entertain a motion that the House suspend the rules except on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays”. Meaning we could not consider the bill under suspension of the rules until Monday. The other way in which to pass bills in the House is by passing a rule providing for consideration of the bill and then moving on to consider the bill under that rule. But, clause 6(a) of Rule XIII provides “a report by the Committee on Rules on a rule, joint rule, or the order of business may not be called up for consideration on the same day it is presented to the House”. This is what’s known as the “same day” rule. Under clause 6(a) of Rule XIII, there are limited exceptions in which a House may consider a rule the same day it is reported to the House by the Rules Committee. This includes when 2/3 of the House vote to do so. This is one way to pass the DHS appropriations bill (without ICE and CBP funding) today. There are also various ways in which the House can waive its own rules, including through unanimous consent, through a resolution, or other mechanism. The House can also adjourn midday and start a new legislative day after the rule is reported, bypassing the same-day rule because it is technically a new legislative day. There are still a lot of challenges ahead, but we are fully committed to getting ALL of DHS reopened for the American people. I am willing to stay in Washington through the weekend or for however long it takes, to get this done.

Anyways $6 Trillion is wrong, it's half that. Who will come up with that $3 Trillion? It won't be ULTRA-MILLIONAIRE'S, it will be the same taxpayers that have been paying 10% more than her banker buddies. 🤦‍♂️

If you make under $184k you pay a 12% Social Security tax rate Everything after that cap is exempt from the tax If you make $1 million per year you pay 2% and... it's 0.001% for billionaires Ask Sen. Warren why taxes are NOT proportional? 8 consecutive failed audits maybe? 🤦‍♂️
Americans For Tax Fairness@4TaxFairness

BREAKING: Elizabeth Warren, with Reps. Jayapal and Boyle, just dropped the ULTRA-MILLIONAIRE TAX ACT. The bill creates a 2% wealth tax on $50 million households, and an additional 1% wealth tax on billionaires. It raises $6.2 TRILLION from just 260,000 households. Obvious W.

Every crypto company in America would benefit from the CLARITY Act. Every single one. Coinbase is the only one standing in the way and it’s not because the bill is bad. It's because the bill is bad for Coinbase's margins.

That is exactly what will happen. It is written into the AIFMD which allows suspensions of their own system when that system is the cause of the entire market failure. In the US, we call that racketeering.

Both parties are playing you. And it's by design. George Washington warned us about this in 1796. "Let me... warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally." He said political parties would become "potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people." That was 230 years ago. And here we are. Here's how the game works. Republicans say "You don't want Democrats in charge. They'll destroy the country." Democrats say "You don't want Republicans in charge. They'll destroy the country." Fear. Fear. Fear. Vote for us. We're the lesser of two evils. Sound familiar? They've convinced you that your only options are red or blue. That anything else is throwing your vote away. That you HAVE to pick a side. But here's what they don't want you to realize... They control who you get to choose from. They control who gets on the debate stage. They control who gets TV coverage. They control who gets attention. Third party candidate gaining traction? Shut them out. Independent with real ideas? Blacklist them from the debates. Someone who actually threatens the system? Media blackout. You think you're choosing. But you're just picking from a menu they wrote. They give you the illusion of choice. Red or blue. Door one or door two. Both doors lead to the same room. And while you're busy being terrified of the other team... They both stay in power. They both get rich. They both chip away at your rights. They both run up the debt your grandkids will pay. Here's what frustrates me. Every time I criticize Trump... someone says "Oh so you wanted Kamala?" No. That's not the point. That's the trap. They've programmed you to think in binary. Red or blue. That's it. No other options exist. But there ARE other options. They just don't want you to see them. Because if you did... their game falls apart. Washington saw this coming. He called it "a frightful despotism." He was right. Both parties manufacture fear to control you. To keep you distracted. To keep you fighting your neighbor instead of questioning them. The two-party system isn't broken. It's working exactly as designed. To keep THEM in power. Stop playing their game. Rise and Lead.

Why has there been no accountability for treason & sedition? One reason is the DOJ is trying to use a system that was almost completely captured by the Deep State to go after the Deep State & it’s not working. Inside DOJ career bureaucrats & political operatives are systematically & deliberately subverting the Admin & too many prosecutors are more afraid of the Deep State than those currently in power. This DOJ leadership inherited a mess but it is not their job to defend it - they were elected to expose & correct it. It is not their job to keep prosecuting unjust cases brought by the corrupt & politically motivated. It is not their job to block civil cases brought agst the govt by those who were targeted & persecuted. Just be honest with the American people. Do the right thing.
