Should health visitors not check to see how a Dad's mental health is during the newborn stage? I found myself third wheeling the entire conversation about how everything is going.

How many babies did you want before you started having them and how many do you want now that you've started (or finished depending)?

Become a parent so that you can ruin someone's day by cutting their toast the wrong way.

My wife gave birth on a hospital car park surrounded by a ton of spectators. The baby's head popped out as she was being wheeled out of an ambulance. Can anyone beat this birthing story with something even crazier?! 😆

@thenortherndad I'm also a nursery practitioner 😂 the amount of parents kicking off about the increase of fees. It's completely understandable.

With nursery fees set to increase yet again in January, it's becoming even harder for parents to afford it. With the cost of living also increasing, it's getting to a point where it would be easier to just not work and stay home with the kids, than struggle to pay crazy fees.

@LicensedtoDad I always wanted a load of kids. However, having just had our second, we are definitely stopping at 2.

@StephenYule I felt the same way but it gets easier. Also tried to remind myself I knew what I was doing a bit more with my second, so although he didn't get my undivided attention he does/did benefit from the fact I wasn't completely clueless second time round. You got this 🙌

The hardest part so far about having a second child is having the same amount of energy and time for my eldest. He still deserves everything I have but it's so hard through the exhaustion.

@mummummymamma Yeah I think we just need to get through this tough period. It never lasts forever. He seems to be doing slightly better each night so fingers crossed we are on the right track.

@mummummymamma We've got a 5 year old boy and a 2 week old. I think it's the tiredness that's doing it. Just constantly running on empty. It's a phase though and I know the sleep will return in time.

@hilarymeggin I'm in the UK. We get 2 weeks after the birth. But if you plan to share maternity, like we are doing, you don't get anything at the beginning. I've had to take 3 weeks unpaid leave to actually be at home.

@StephenYule Are you in the U.S.? Believe it or not, before the Clinton family leave act was passed in the 90s, dads didn’t even have the right to take unpaid leave! And he took such a political bearing for even wanting that much! It’s crazy.

Having just had my second child, it's become apparent to me how bad the paternity leave is in this country. I've had to take a financial hit to spend a few weeks off in this early stage. Why do Dad's not get longer at the beginning when it's such a crucial time?

@StephenYule 1) I support dads who truly want to help out on paternity leave. Dads are parents, not babysitters 2) My ex, right after Tiny was born, took paternity leave and slept in the back room for two weeks. We didn’t last long after that.

@dadmattersuk I've decided to take shared parental leave at the 6 month stage, but this has meant that I don't get my 2 weeks at the start. Crazy.

@StephenYule Shared parental leave isn’t often taken up. And there are a few reasons to consider - it’s statutory pay, which can be significantly lower than a wage, dads don’t want to feel like they are negatively impacting mums available leave. There are companies that are doing more - cont
