I am a lifelong liberal who has represented South Africa with distinction on the world stage, often under very difficult circumstances. I've waved our flag high, and I've told the truth. The ANC has been exposed for misleading the public and failing to act as the US tariff deadline looms. Now, with their backs against the wall, they reach for the oldest trick in the book: racially-loaded deflection. It’s cowardly, it’s transparent, and it’s an insult to the intelligence of all South Africans. I remain unmoved.

My fellow South Africans and Beavers, it’s time to take off our blinkers. For 30 years, we’ve been fed the same recycled narrative: blame white people, shout “colonizer,” stir up land emotions, and ignore the real issue, a corrupt, incompetent government that thrives on keeping us divided. Yes, apartheid was wrong. It was brutal and unjust, and it left behind deep wounds. No one is denying that. But we are now in 2025, and apartheid is no longer the reason South Africa is failing. The people in charge today are. And the truth is, they’re using race, your pain, your past, and your identity, as a political weapon to distract you from the fact that they’ve failed spectacularly. Let’s talk about land, the government’s favorite smokescreen. Every election cycle, every scandal, the land debate resurfaces like clockwork. “The whites stole the land!” they yell. But history isn’t that simple, and slogans don’t make truth. Before a single European ship touched South African soil, black tribes were fighting over territory, displacing each other through war, conquest, and migration. Ever heard of the Mfecane? It wasn’t a community picnic, it was a time of violent upheaval where stronger tribes like the Zulu displaced and annihilated smaller ones. Land was not some peaceful, communal utopia. It was taken, traded, bartered, and, yes, sometimes stolen, long before the word "colonizer" entered the chat. Let’s also not forget that some African leaders sold their own people into slavery. That wasn’t colonialism, that was betrayal from within. So, no, white South Africans didn’t swoop in and "steal" a peaceful utopia. That’s a politically convenient fantasy, not historical fact. And yet, here in 2025, we have white South Africans, many born after apartheid, being actively discriminated against by law. Can’t win a government tender unless they partner with a black-owned firm. Can’t access a bursary, no matter how poor their family is. Get passed over for jobs, not because they’re unqualified, but because they don’t tick the right box. All while paying the highest taxes to fund a system that excludes them. That’s not redress, it’s revenge, sanitized by political branding. And who’s really benefiting from all this so-called transformation? Not the poor black South African still waiting for housing, jobs, and dignity. The real winners are the black political elite, the connected few who jet off to Dubai, sip imported whiskey, and keep shouting “colonizer” while looting your future. They use race to divide, guilt to control, and your anger to distract. All while they mismanage Eskom, collapse healthcare, steal public funds, and drive the economy into the ground. And still, they get away with it. Because every time people start to question the government, they change the subject. “Let’s talk about land! Let’s talk about apartheid! Let’s talk about the whites!” Anything but accountability. They know that if the people of South Africa, black, white, coloured, Indian, ever woke up and stood together, their game would be over. That’s why the racial fire must keep burning. And yet, despite being blamed, demonized, and pushed out of opportunity, white South Africans are still here. Still paying their taxes. Still running businesses that employ thousands. Still building schools, infrastructure, and hospitals. Still staying, even when the system works against them every single day. If they were truly as evil as they’re made out to be, they’d have left a long time ago. But they haven’t, because they still believe in this country. So here’s the truth, no matter how uncomfortable: South Africa’s collapse isn’t because of Jan van Riebeeck. It’s because of 30 years of corruption, cadre deployment, and leaders who use race to cover their own failures. If you still believe white South Africans are the reason things haven’t improved, then you’ve been lied to, and you’re falling for it. Blaming whites won’t fix the lights. Racial quotas won’t grow the economy. No amount of historical guilt will fill empty stomachs or rebuild broken roads. It’s not white South Africans who are holding this country back, it’s the people who keep using race as a shield from accountability. To every black South African: you’ve been sold a lie. You’ve been kept angry, poor, and divided while a small elite gets richer and richer. White South Africans are not your enemy. They don’t want to rule you. They don’t want to silence you. They want the same things you do, safety, freedom, fairness, and a future worth staying for. The real enemy is the one who tells you otherwise from behind the safety of a luxury car, a security convoy, and a foreign bank account. The one' who occasionally leave money laying around inside couches. This country is not broken because of race. It’s broken because of who profits from keeping us at each other’s throats. If we don’t stop playing their game, we’ll keep losing, together. It’s time to wake up. To stop blaming. To stop dividing. And to start building, as South Africans. All of us. Before there’s nothing left to build.

That annual exercise in global hypocrisy where a man with a long, documented history of • violence, • sabotage, and • communist collusion... ... is paraded around and celebrated as a saint. So let's set the record straight: Mandela co-founded Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK), an armed wing of the @MYANC responsible for nearly 200 bombings and acts of sabotage: • power stations, • police posts, • railway lines... ... all while preaching Marxist revolution and receiving military training from • Algeria, • Ethiopia, • Egypt, and • Libya. He openly planned guerrilla war, and the infamous Operation Mayibuye proves it. He wasn't jailed for his skin colour. He was convicted with hard evidence of plotting violent insurrection. And let's not forget: The US, UK, and pre-1994 South Africa rightly branded him a terrorist - and he remained on the US terror watch list until 2008. Yes, he later preached "peace," but only after the ANC failed to seize power through violence. So while the world claps for "67 minutes of service," maybe spare a few seconds to read the Rivonia Trial transcript and ask why Mandela's full legacy is so carefully whitewashed.
