@bee_fumo As much as i LOVE hating on GNOME i think we all have to agree that GNOME caters towards people who don't want to play with their system and just use it for work.
If there's no one main normie friendly DE/Entity then all other DEs will inherit GNOME's fundamental problems.

Genuinely if you're a new person on Linux or someone developing on Linux avoid gnomeshit.
A Man In Red@a_man_in_red
Microsoft being scared of Linux actually becoming viable for gaming is ironic given the recent revelation of a sect within FOSS that loathes gamers. This guy is a major part of GNOME development for instance.

Artix Linux joins the ranks of Linux distributions refusing to comply with Age Verification laws.
A developer for the systemd-free distro, based on Arch, stated simply:
“We'll NEVER require any verification or identification from the user.”

@thecowmilk @LundukeJournal People dislike sysd for many reasons, Be it due to it doing literally everything (Or rather the project itself doing more than it's supposed to)
Or in my case the fact that it's absurdly slow.
Obv there are other reasons such as leadership and such, But generally it's those two.
English

@System64fumo @LundukeJournal For a user like me systemd is fine and for some reason some people dislike it.

SystemD has added birth date storage in order to comply with Brazil and California Age Verification laws.
Let that sink in.
A Linux init system now handles Age Verification.

English

@librecomputer Alternatively more distributions need to offer more choices for init systems just like they do with DEs.
English

Systemd needs to make the only choice that is reasonable and not support systems in California, Colorado, and Brazil if laws pass.

@thecowmilk @LundukeJournal OpenRC is a sane alternative, Init scripts are absolutely not for the faint of heart 💀
English

@System64fumo @LundukeJournal well mf not everyone is a caveman like you with init scripts. shuu shuu away
English

@bee_fumo Who said this had to make any sense?
This whole "Age verification" thing is just a ploy to get more of your data and to lock you down even more than you already are.
You will own nothing and be happy.
You will have no freedom or control.
Comply and do not resist.

@redefinemee @mecoscorner @bretweber @geerlingguy @RadxaComputer Yeah, I’m overclocked, Check my earlier post about that.

Today's the day where the CIX platform is now viable!
Core layout is fixed as per github.com/Neol00/edk2-ci…

@librecomputer Libre Computer Green Bean releasing with 128MB of RAM?
English

@System64fumo This build booted reliably. I have a thread in my forms tracking progress.
English

@mecoscorner Humm...
Well i gave up on sky1-linux since it didn't work and didn't seem to improve.
Lots of people complained about the same thing so yeah..
Also after a brief look at the code it looked like a bit of a mess, I highly doubt this would go anywhere long term.
English

@System64fumo I will have it for Armbian some time this month. Got it mostly where I want but still need to do some fine tuning before release
English

@mecoscorner I tried it, Doesn’t work :/
Technically i got it to boot after many many many reboots and kernel panics, One cold poweroff and it didn’t boot again..
English

@System64fumo Have you tried the Sky1-Linux project? It has iGPU etc. on mainline 6.18 and newer
