I know people want to believe in UFOs, and I believe alien life exists out there, but I’m afraid I’ve never seen anything I can’t explain. I did at one point think so, but now think it was a reflection in the window. The distance is way too much. It’s almost impossible to fathom those distances, and while you’ll occasionally hear about something that can exceed the speed of light, nothing indicates anything with mass can ever do it. There is a lot about the universe we don’t know, sure, and nothing is impossible, but the probability of alien spaceships dropping in on us is extremely low.

The problem isn’t your hobbies. The problem is that you aren’t good enough at your hobbies. There are groupies for every annoying endeavor on earth. Video game groupies. Fly fishing groupies. Marching band groupies. She’s repulsed not by your hobby but by your mediocrity.
