Trump says we're gonna have the Navy start escorting ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Something we didn't need to do prior to the war....

@SuvyBob Hillary would not have changed anything. This is systemic breakdown of globalization due to many factors and covid.

This is what some of us predicted was likely if Hillary Clinton didn't win in 2016. We were lectured to about "equality", "feelings", and other nonsense regarding the brilliance of the masses or political activists and how great ideology is. In the end, reality always wins.
Ryan@BanUnsweetTea

10 years of unchecked left and right wing populism, and the only thing we have to show for it is massively high prices, no job growth and consumer sentiment at the lowest in history. Congratulations everyone.

@nps621 @ratlpolicy I mean that is the literal aim of both countries. So not sure why we need to care

@DBZYuYuYasha @Legal_Fil Ok. So now progressives should say that when defending their choice to not allow the mergers. You are trying to have it both ways. Which makes you just as bad as any Hard core MAGA

@TrajansS @Legal_Fil That doesn't have to be the explicit reason. It is well understood that having many smaller companies protects the economy from the shock of losing a larger agglomeration of companies. It's a well-trod part of progressive ideology.

@DBZYuYuYasha @Legal_Fil That is not the reason progressives used to oppose the merger. “We want to save JetBlue, so we killed Spirit” zero people have said that on the left.

@TrajansS @Legal_Fil Jet Blue would have cut Spirit massively if they bought them. And no one has explained to me yet how paying $3.5B for Spirit would have put Jet Blue in a better position now. Spirit's good routes aren't that valuable, especially when you consider financing costs.

@ratlpolicy Yeah that’ll work. Apply more sanctions on top of the sanctions they don’t recognize. 🤡

@DBZYuYuYasha @Legal_Fil Spirit needed to be merged with JetBlue. It was already dead before the price rise due to post covid travel patterns. Senator Warren owns the job losses. She should own it if she had an ounce of decency

@TrajansS @Legal_Fil ? But that's ALSO true where president retard doesn't raise oil prices for an idiotic war. Two things can be true at once! Jet Blue would have definitely raised prices and cut flights and cut jobs! And it also would have gone bankrupt by now anyway!

Sad to see a science communicator think vitamins in enriched flour are scary chemicals.

@astroFunkhouser used to live in AZ and CA. I don't doubt that the ingredients are "real", but I prefer my bread with fewer chemicals

@BudimanJayaS @RichardHanania He is plain right. In the age of LLMs, the guy who drills for oil is way more valuable than guy who produces words.

Every time Karp speaks about ideas, it's like a distillation of the most uninteresting parts of right-wing twitter, said with the confidence of a guy who's sure he should be a philosopher king, with the movements of someone who is on crack.
Bitcoin Teddy@Bitcoin_Teddy

Palantir CEO Alex Karp on Zohran Mandani: “The average Ivy League grad voting for this mayor is annoyed their education is not that valuable, and that the person who knows how to drill for oil has a more valuable profession” “I think that annoys the fuck out of these people”

@TrajansS @LJS527 I don’t think the whole tax thing works anymore. This is not the tea party era. When gas is $6.00 a gallon, who knows what will happen.

Deleted my platner post because of an annoying typo I couldn't edit after the fact. But my point was that if he's the best candidate for SENATE, then we as a country need to reconsider this entire process of how we pick our leaders. Regardless of party.
