Lots of anger in the world lately. Time to share my favorite word again. Muditā (Pāli and Sanskrit: मुदिता) means joy; especially sympathetic or vicarious joy, or the pleasure that comes from delighting in other people's well-being.[1] The spiritual opposite of schadenfreude.

If you decide to pull your child from public school and homeschool your child You should get the full $13,000 for your child that would have been spent on your child in public school

@StonerDad lol I couldn’t resist the siren call of 40 dollar an oz weed from a trailer on a reserve while driving home from Kelowna. It was not a sound decision. Lol. Basically spend 40 bucks on half a joint.

This is just honest to god terrible weed, probably the worst stuff I’ve ever bought, legal or not. Whoever thought this was consumable should be embarrassed. There’s no saving it, can’t even make a salad with good weed to make it better. Serves me right for cheaping out.

The biggest problem with Alto high speed rail (beyond the fact that it’s unlikely to get built before we burn $100b) is that it’s not even an ambitious project. By global standards, it is not even a “high speed” train. Its projected average speeds are below 200 km/h, a full 100 km/h slower than peer systems. In reality, through design, we’ll likely compromise even more on speed by introducing onerous safety limits and add more stops. We’ll be lucky if this thing goes 150 km/h by the time it’s done (IF it ever is).

I think a lot of the people that claim to have been watching it live were folks that were school-aged at that time. That launch had a disproportionate number of classrooms watching live because of Christa McAuliff being one of the crew members as a high school teacher. If it had been any other launch, yeah... nobody really watched them regularly. But a teacher going into space was a huge deal in schools.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.
Jeremy London@SirJeremyLondon

Anyone who experienced the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, like I did, is probably a bit hesitant to get too excited about the Artemis II launch today. I truly hope our children don’t have to experience such tragedy. May the Universe welcome them and return them safely home 🙏

@AnonBC_Con If this happens, expect a repeat of federal returns. The NDP will win as moderate conservatives say “fuck no” to a big tent party that includes nutters who couldn’t even act normal as opposition. Brodie? lol! Good idea.

Unsurprising. Here's an uncomfortable truth: Dallas Brodie might well have the power to choose the next leader of the BCCP (if she wants to). The BC Liberal/United leadership contestants hate this move because Fulmer is brilliantly tapping into a large and highly motivated pool of Conservatives they can't access. Sucks for them. This party belongs to grassroots Conservatives, not BC Liberal opportunists. Polling over the next couple days/weeks will be interesting. 👀
Yuri Fulmer@yuri_fulmer

Yesterday broke records. We made a historic move to unite the right in BC, and members and supporters responded. I’m proud to share that in 24 hours, we raised more money and sold more memberships than at any point in this campaign. This is what happens when we’re true to our Conservative values and when we protect this party. To those who donated and bought a membership, thank you. If you haven’t, time is running out. Join right now. 👇👇 teamyurifulmer.ca/join

Journalistic malpractice at its worst. Author is a supporter of one of Yuri’s opponents (BC Liberal VP Caroline Elliot). The agreement does not specify which ridings so I don’t know how they came to the honest conclusion at they were “key.” Cites unnamed “rivals”

@amberrboyle @JigglyPants44 lol! Bankrupt? Do you even know what that means? I’m not a liberal. I just voted them to keep Poilievre out. I will again if the conservatives try to run him in the next election. I’m not alone. Poilievre told us who he is. He is holding the CPC back. Have an apple though. 🍎

It’s frankly embarrassing, and an indictment of those that lead us, that gas prices in Canada have spiked to over $2 per litre because of a conflict on the other side of the world. We have, right here in Canada, the fourth largest oil reserves on the planet. Pipelines should have been built 10 years ago. Refineries should have been built 10 years ago. We should have an energy policy that puts Canada, and Canadians, first. This is ridiculous.

Billionaire Chamath Palihapitiya explains that once he learned the mainstream media was lying to him, he left the Democrat Party “You went from being a large Democrat donor to now a very outspoken proponent on the other side of the aisle” Chamath Palihapitiya “Yeah — This is not about politics for me, it's about the truth. There was a moment where I was basically like everybody else, and pretty brainwashed. My media diet was very much the same as everybody else's. I read the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. I watched a little bit of CNN, a little bit of CNBC, a little bit of MSNBC, a little bit of CBS Economist. Every now and then you encounter it on a plane and you think you know what's going on, and I had a perception of Donald Trump initially, from the moment he walked down the staircase in Trump Tower to announce. And then over the course of 6-7 years, I realized that some of those fundamental things that I was told about him were just totally false. And there was enough content online where I was almost afraid, but it started with Charlottesville. I was almost afraid to look at it because I'm like, I think I was lied to. And then I saw it. I saw what he said, but then I saw the portrayal. I had originally believed that portrayal until I saw the truth. And then I just started to go down that rabbit hole. So for me, it was an evolution where I was like, I can't believe I'm being lied to by this group of people whose sole responsibility is to hold truth, to power. The key word there is truth to power, not your perception or your desires. And I just think that that, that, I mean, red-pilled me, I guess in a way”

I was as critical of the @NDP as any when I worked in the Harper Government, but @ThomasMulcair was so clearly ahead of his time. A New Democrat like he or Jack Layton could form Government today. The fringe has deeply co-opted the NDP away from everyday working Canadians, a cohort that the NDP once built their foundation on. Sad to see.
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca

Tom Mulcair responds to Avi Lewis' criticism: "Mr. Lewis seems to be more intent on convincing other people that he's right and getting them to see his point of view than in dealing with the real differences that exist across Canada and he doesn't even want to run in a byelection."
