@KeithPe20690802 @Henry3Studios2 @sarahlustne @GazTheJourno Exactly their members were mad at their union for giving in. This deal wasn’t negotiated it was a way of saying give us 4DW and Paid meal relief and you can have Trains Modernisation but tweak it so it’s not the same and we’ll agree

@camodeo89 @Henry3Studios2 @sarahlustne @GazTheJourno Aslef drivers were furious because RMT won a better deal. That's fact.....I know a Aslef rep who admitted they sold their members short in the deal, improved by RMT. This 4-day weeek saw Aslef go negotiate without the RMT, something they've been doing since the Bob Crow days.

Least effective Tube strike for years as RMT loses its grip on London. 60% of Tube drivers turned up for work on Tuesday. A maximum of 55% are RMT members... ➡️

@GazTheJourno At what time was the Figure of 60% calculated as the strikes didn’t start till Midday, the network was suspended by 2100 and some lines started at 10:30am cancelling train. Massive impact with certain lines not running through central London,

@Henry3Studios2 @KeithPe20690802 @sarahlustne @GazTheJourno Really, so the union that’s accepted and told their members to accept the pay deal in 23 like they always do, then what happened the RMT take action the Mayor gets involved and we get a higher pay rise and the ASLEF members benefit again

@GazTheJourno 1) Only 40-45% of all tube drivers are RMT, the majority are ASLEF. 2) Every line was either fully or part-suspended 3) the Elizabeth Line which is NOT A TUBE LINE, takes many of the passengers now. But you’re a Torygraph “journalist” so I wouldn’t expect the truth.

@Bobbadbig @PChloexo @dickietunnel @TheGriftReport drivers on the Victoria line took action a couple years ago because of the noise on the line that also had customers complain The action was to drive manually at 35mph instead of the 55 the train does in automatic, this was to lessen the wheel screeching. Decline in maintenance

Campaigners demand £72,000-a-year Tube driver jobs are advertised on the open market. TfL currently only offers the high-paying roles internally to existing staff first under a long-standing agreement with the RMT union. The jobs require just GCSEs in maths and English yet pay a base of £71,170, rising to over £80,000 with overtime, plus a gold-plated pension and free travel. The TaxPayers’ Alliance has slammed the “union stranglehold” and called it an insult to Londoners that creates a closed shop for union insiders. They say blocking external recruitment kills competition and artificially inflates wages at taxpayers’ expense. This comes as the RMT continues striking, costing the economy up to £250 million.

@dickietunnel @Bobbadbig @PChloexo @TheGriftReport No one is saying that they have less responsibility than us, it’s a different industry with different rules and but it’s equally a hard job, we are also responsible for a train full of up to a 1000 passengers and at deep level tube We have to know what to do untill help arrives

@camodeo89 @Bobbadbig @PChloexo @TheGriftReport Carl You will not persuade me nor most people who can envisage an equivalence with the responsibility an HGV or PSV driver that you are worth £80K for a 32 hour week when they get far less for far more I’ll acknowledge you have more leverage to inconvenience your customers

@Bobbadbig @PChloexo @dickietunnel @TheGriftReport What about when the automatic system go wrong, that driver then still has to keep up the knowledge to then drive that train manually. Passengers would never know what mode the train is in or if there’s a problem

@PChloexo @dickietunnel @camodeo89 @TheGriftReport Victoria, Jubilee, Central, Circle, District, Metropolitan and H&C are basically automatic now. All the "driver" does is press a button to open the doors, press 2 buttons to close them, press another so the train drives itself to the next stop.

@camodeo89 @sophielouisecc Other unions don’t have the luxury of threatening to cause chaos for 1000s of people’s journey to work on a daily basis You literally had a new deal in November that gave you backpay and a guaranteed pay rise for this year and next year

The day we fully automate the tube will be a great day indeed. people on low wages will no longer be used as bargaining chips by people who earn 3 times as much as they do - and won’t stop complaining about it

@mrcuttingman @TheGriftReport If that’s all it takes then apply for a role in TFL which means starting on Stations then apply for a position when it comes out and see how easy the line knowledge and rule and procedures are

RMT accuse TfL of U-turn in negotiations ahead of #tubestrike which starts on Tuesday. LU says RMT should call off strike so “next phase of detailed discussions” can take place. It’s a bit of a mess & feels like little chance of resolution at the moment. 1/2

RMT accuse TfL of U-turn in negotiations ahead of tube strike RMT has accused TfL bosses of reneging on promises to negotiate in good faith, making tube driver strike action next week inevitable. During the dispute over a fake four day week imposition, TfL wrote to the union, offering to negotiate on all elements of the proposals. However, this week they informed RMT that their proposals to condense the working week into 4 days against the expressed wishes of most drivers in two separate referendums, will now be imposed. As a result strike action will take place as scheduled and further action is planned for the coming months. RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey said: “We have approached negotiations with TfL in good faith throughout this entire process. “But despite our best efforts, TfL seem unwilling to make any concessions in a bid to avert strike action. “This is extremely disappointing and has baffled our negotiators. “The approach of TfL is not one which leads to industrial peace and will infuriate our members who want to see a negotiated settlement to this avoidable dispute.”
