@DoctorLFC That and refreshing/reloading basically don't change the feed anymore. IMO the algo changes here are a case study in unintended consequences and hatred of your user base. (Though weirdly I was literally wondering about this when your post showed up on my TL!)

@SwordsaintPress @DavidAstinWalsh No, not a musician in that sense, but clearly seeking out new collaborators, to a restless degree. And a definite skill in arranging/rearranging and flirting with different genres. One of his albums was literally called, Mighty Rearranger.

It is underrated just how much Alison Krauss has been able to channel Robert Plant into a vessel of actual artistic merit.

@SarahLongwell25 I've seen no evidence that @hasanthehun believes he should be a "litmus test" or whatever. Quite the opposite actually. Seems to me a lot of what you engage with are out of context clips/quotes from other media rather than things he actually says or posts in their proper context.

Look, the dumbest thing about all this is that I didn’t and don’t care about Piker. Piker never comes up in focus groups with voters as someone they’re following—the way a Rogan or Tucker or Candance does. I don’t think he’s singularly making an impact on politics in any way commensurate with the attention he’s getting. But I care about Tim. I agreed with @Timodc’s original point that using Piker as a litmus test is dumb. Calling up Jon Ossoff to ask what he thinks about Piker is dumb. It is an unnecessary distraction. But I felt like Tim’s discussion of Piker was too dismissive of some of Pikers more toxic positions. And that was the part I wanted to react to. There’s nothing I can do about the fact that the internet distortion field has overtaken the whole thing. And that people are debating my views in a way that is totally divorced from my actual, very-well documented views. That’s just part of what happens when doing this work. The only thing I can do is keep saying what I actually believe. And what I hear voters saying they believe. But politicians can reach voters who are angry about the Iran war and even about America’s relationship to Israel without going on the stream of a guy who said America deserved 9/11. But, it’s also no doubt true that he’s being elevated by the whole conversation and the right answer to questions about him should probably be “Piker, who?” Because that’s what most voters would say if you asked them.

@mark_dow Really hard to take seriously the claim that some segment had to swallow hard and vote R b/c the Dems decided not to have some half-baked mini-primary that would have been "honoring the process."

The most profound betrayal of the entire democratic process ever was January 6. Nothing from either party in our lifetime has even come close. People saying stuff like this typically voted for Trump, know they screwed up, and are now trying to somehow exculpate themselves instead of manning up and accepting that they got conned.

@moultano OK, fine. IMO it's implied when the subject "astrophage concept" is linked to an animation of a completely different biological process. I get that you're expressing wonder about biology/life. Guess I'm responding to the massive amount of bio misinformation on here these days

@donelson_smith I am not describing it as a phage.

The thing I like about the astrophage concept is that it feels implausible in the same way that life feels implausible in general. It's like something unbelievable that David Attenborough would tell me and then I'd believe it. None of this should work.

@MichaelLinLab @BoWang87 They should pull the preprint until more rigorous testing is done. This is part of the reason X/Twitter is awash in ignorant tech people thinking biology and medicine are going to be "solved" in 5 years or whatever.

@BoWang87 I tried one query with a Type II TM protein, and it said only one thing, and it was wrong. It said the CT is cytosolic and NT lumenal (see end) when it's the opposite. And it took 400 words to do it, when "Type II TM protein with no apparent catalytic function" would suffice.
