@ryunuck @jasager029 @AnthropicAI What an analogy dude.... by your logic, AI should be the absolutely most secret thing where we don't share anything and procecute people when they do... How does the manhattan project at all make for the right comparison here?

@jasager029 @AnthropicAI This is the Manhattan project dude. Everyone is working together to achieve God. Everyone on the same team. Not releasing papers and weights -is- the real attack. Trying to get ahead by themselves without putting down a ladder.

We’ve identified industrial-scale distillation attacks on our models by DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, and MiniMax. These labs created over 24,000 fraudulent accounts and generated over 16 million exchanges with Claude, extracting its capabilities to train and improve their own models.

@MTorygreen @AnthropicAI Your logic is horrible.... you think these labs don't have access to the same internet? If that's all it was, why would they need to distill from Anthropic?

@AnthropicAI you trained on the open internet and then call it “distillation attacks” when others learn from you labs that like to preach “open research” suddenly crying about open access this is what happens when intelligence sits behind a centralized api with subsidized tokens

@antigravity I wish you guys were more up-front about there being limits in Antigravity even for paid users. I upgraded to Ultra when I ran out of quota and it obviously did nothing. Now I can't refund it even though I'm unable to use it right now.

@mikeyk Sonnet 4.5 is definitely more honest! But it still seems to reward hack... Getting it to do a long task seems difficult sometimes. The new auto-compact is awesome though. I assume it's making use of the new APIs. :-)

@karljobstgaming Theory: Getting so many things wrong is part of Call of Shame's plan. It baits a video from you, drives more engagement for him, and gives him content for a new video. An AI slop channel only cares about ad revenue.

@Tim_Hua_ Hey Tim! I just sent you a DM regarding a project I'm working on that could likely provide a lot more insight to this problem for you. Just wanted to make sure you knew to check for it in your messages!

I spent a few days exploring AI-driven psychosis, and very easily got Deepseek-v3 to tell a psychotic user to jump off a cliff. Different models respond to psychotic users very differently (e.g., GPT-5 is a lot better than 4o!), LW post link and more results in thread below:

@mingchikuo Liquid metal and Liquidmetal are not the same thing. They used Liquidmetal for the SIM tool.

Dongguan EonTec is poised to benefit significantly from the widespread adoption of liquid metal in the hinges of the upcoming foldable iPhone. According to recent industry research, Apple is focused on improving durability, enhancing screen flatness, and minimizing crease marks in its foldable iPhone design. To achieve these goals, key components like the hinges will be crafted from liquid metal using a die-casting process. As the exclusive supplier of liquid metal, EonTec is expected to be the primary beneficiary of this shift. Apple has been using liquid metal for small components for years (such as SIM ejector pins), but the foldable iPhone will mark its first major use of the material in a critical mechanical part. By the end of 2024, EonTec has shipped over 10 million central shafts, key hinge components made from liquid metal. As Android smartphone brands gear up to compete with the upcoming foldable iPhone, they are expected to increasingly adopt liquid metal for their hinges, driving rapid growth in the liquid metal market. The ASP of liquid metal per foldable iPhone is estimated at RMB 70–100. Based solely on the first-generation foldable iPhone, EonTec could see revenue of RMB 1.5–2 billion—a potential 100–200% increase driven by this single order. As more competitors in the foldable phone market turn to liquid metal, EonTec’s growth could accelerate even further. Dongguan Yihao Metal, a subsidiary in which EonTec holds a 60% stake, handles the production and shipment of liquid metal components. With the liquid metal business poised for strong growth, industry surveys indicate that EonTec may seek to increase its ownership in Yihao Metal over time to fully capture the subsidiary’s profits.

@Tesla How do I get my sales advisor to contact me? I need something changed on my order but it's been a full day and I can't get a response in the app or via text. It texts me asking questions but when I respond, I get nothing back.

@happygeek @Forbes @iProov If it gives any indication, the article was sent to me for my thoughts (I have a background in iPhone security). Changing Face to facial would probably help.

@flyryan @Forbes @iProov Facial ID, facial photo biometrics, not the Apple Face ID mapping - just a contraction of facial ID. I might change if it’s causing confusion.

@matt_vanswol @Apple That every phone has iOS 18. My phone doesn’t have it, and it’s an iPhone. You have to have the latest iPhone.

I’ve never been more thankful to be an iPhone user. Due to the lack of cell service, EVERYONE in Asheville NC right now on iOS 18 has been able to get messages out and in with the Satellite messaging feature. This is literally saving lives @Apple.

@USPSHelp your callback service on your support line doesn’t work. It told me 35-52minutes. Called back after 90mins and it told me I could either hang up and wait another 5 minutes for a callback or lose my spot and hold at the end of the line. Never got a call.
