I want to say that as a UK citizen I do not find the Eid festivities and public prayer in any way disturbing. I find any suggestion that they are disturbing to be very offensive and un-British.

Buffer zones don't ban prayer. They balance the right of those who want to oppose abortion with those who want to access one without being harassed to use the same space at the same time.
Banning public prayer from Trafalgar square because you demonise those doing it isn't balance as theres no contest for the use of the space.
So this is only an issue if you don't see women or muslims as having rights...

Just to illustrate how uninformed and narrow your perspective is, here’s a video from a town in Algeria, a Muslim-majority country, where Eid prayers are being held outdoors.
You might benefit from traveling more, broadening your horizons, and actually engaging with thoughtful reading! Don’t allow the X new algorithm brainwash you like a sheep. A bit of self-cultivation wouldn’t go amiss.
Don’t you think it’s a shame to spend so much of your life on this earth and remain so closed-minded and unaware and brainwashed you fire nonsense about a religion you know nothing about? What a profound waste of life.

How about real, near-realtime data from every single one of the many thousands of real Cosy heat pumps already installed by Octopus Energy in real homes? That's a really big dose of real.
That's what we've done with the Cosy Heat Pump Fleet Performance Dashboard, released today.
Let's talk about what the data says right now, not some hypothetical argument about what it might say tomorrow.
Why hide behind marketing speak and hypotheticals when we can show you what the real data says about real heat pump installations in real homes?
There aren't many energy suppliers out there who will go out of their way to put data like this out for the public to see.
And when the request for this transparency comes right from the top, you know you're in the right place. It's a reminder of why I've spent the last 4+ years at Octopus.
We did this around direct debit transparency with Balance Forecast, one of the first projects I worked on when I joined Octopus all those years ago. And we're still doing it today with this heat pump dashboard.
It's been a pleasure working on this project and helping with the visualisations to help break down the frankly insane amount of raw data into insights around fleet-wide efficiency over time and how performance changes with the temperature.
It also tops the list as the dashboard with the longest name that I've ever worked on…

Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination. Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals. I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.

@robin_j_brooks I would think change in demand is close to 0 here. Oil is still cheap. We saw resilience during the previous European energy crisis because of government intervention. We're seeing that now in the rest of the world. If storage draws it will be margin calls that drive price higher

Oil at $150 or $200 isn't the no brainer it's made out to be. You have to think carefully about what's priced at $110. My best guess is that current levels price half of all oil out of the Gulf being permanently disrupted. So $150 or $200 are a stretch...

Assuming the USS Boxer is heading to the Middle East, and considering that she only left San Diego two days ago, she won't be near the Persian Gulf until mid-April.
If the reinforcements are intended to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, then the oil market faces a very long wait.
