NEW: A homeless man sleeping on a bench in downtown Miami saves a missing 6-year-old boy’s life. The child had been wandering alone for nearly 12 hours after police say his mother abandoned him. Arnett Johnson spotted the boy late at night, alone in the middle of Miami’s crime-ridden streets. “I’m looking around for the parent… I don’t see nobody. What is this kid doing out here?” he said. Johnson called police and stayed with the child until officers arrived. The mother is now charged with child neglect. An officer said it best: “We don’t know what could have happened to this child if he remained out in the streets.” What a Godsend. He deserves a GiveSendGo made for him.

A serious incident is underway in Finchley, North London, after a high-speed car chase involving two vehicles (which I personally witnessed). Police have cordoned off much of Ballards Lane and are urging nearby residents to evacuate immediately. This is very unnerving.

@LeeAndersonMP_ Haven't you worked out yet they are not vetted because the government doesn't care. These people are being brought here by the government and it is not for our benefit.

I recently wrote to the Government to express my deep concerns about the UK’s migrant vetting process, and my fears that convicted criminals aren’t being detected. Reading between the lines, the response makes it clear that we have no way of really knowing who is coming here. The Home Office claim they conduct routine criminal record checks with EU member states, and have some bilateral criminal records sharing agreements with Albania, Kosovo and the Five Eyes Alliance (Australia, Canada, New Zealand and USA). For the rest of the World, we are reliant on INTERPOL. And in the Government’s own words the UK is ‘reliant upon reciprocal information-sharing through INTERPOL channels’. So in reality, we are hoping other countries have efficient enough systems in place to actually share the information. Otherwise, we have no way of knowing at all what sort of criminal history these people could have. It’s simply not good enough, and is putting our own citizens at risk. Despite knowing this, the Government continues to place illegal immigrants in communities up and down the country. I have already submitted questions to the Home Office to raise this issue, and will be writing directly to the Minister again to highlight this clear risk to the safety of our public. I will be demanding answers of how the Government can guarantee convicted murderers, sex offenders, terrorists and other criminals are not being released into our neighbourhoods.
