There is a uniquely dysfunctional relationship democrats have with the far left that is not seen anywhere else in our peer democracies. They hate us, they don’t vote for us, some even root for republicans to beat us out of spite, but in the eyes of the media and a majority of the country, liberals and leftists are considered the exact same thing, and their views, even the controversial ones are considered to be ours as well. All of their baggage is ours and our attempts to distance ourselves from them have failed. We get all the downsides and not a single benefit from it. It’s just bad all around.

@ExistentialEnso but this fails to address the fact that the vast, vast majority of non-voters tend to be some of the most marginalized people in society. the very same people you use as a cudgel to shame leftists into voting. this is untenable.

@ExistentialEnso when dems refuse to even have the conversation, of course this results in anger, disillusionment, conspiracism, or total disengagement. this is why the disproportionate focus on leftists is frustrating, esp. for those who DO vote blue & are still blamed for dems losing.

This type of behavior is so prevalent among leftists and so unserious.

Feminists demand more from you because they know you're capable of more. They want emotional intelligence, shared responsibilities, and an authentic human being, not a 'provider' robot. Stop confusing 'submissiveness' with respect. Feminism is actually the one wanting to share the weight of the world with you. Let that sink in.

Russia has a communist history and a large communist party. Then crickets. I can’t see revolution in USA, but I could see it today in Russia.
