@FlyTheElephant1 Thanks for the insight — really appreciate it.
Always found Myriad an incredibly interesting project.
English

Still works, but nobody really cares about it. It will actually work even if nobody is mining it because it has auxpow. multiple times people stopped mining different algos on it, and the blocks kept going then they swapped out some of the algos for different ones to keep it going, they even had algos for phones to mine.
Pretty neat thing, but again nobody cares or understands the technologies of that or of bitcoin, they dont understand or care about the limitations of bitcoin or of the consequences of not properly maintaining it or of the consequences of using bitcoin in ways that are not appropriate for the architecture of it.
English

@FlyTheElephant1 Just saw your post… what ever happened to the first multi-algo coin Myriad - are you still active there?
English

@BTCBreadMan The more you do this the farther we are going to go to restore bitcoin, and the more people who agree with any of your things are going to become refugees going back to the shitcoins they belong in.

Luke's communication is properly suited to the future. The enemies of bitcoin are going to get more and more fervent and absurd. They are a DDOS on social level, they use too many words for small ideas.
This quote sums it up:
“If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.” -satoshi
English

I apologize @LukeDashjr about a month ago I said you weren't a good communicator. You are. I just didn't realize the magnitude of Core's ineptness. Especially in their langauge.
You sound like Abraham Lincoln next to them.

@_Phil_Wilson_ @DevelopingZack ABLA enables automatic scaling. I think the real limits are bandwidth, node hardware and software efficiency.
English

@_Phil_Wilson_ BCH and BTX probably come closest to the original white paper vision. But even then, it’s still hard to see either becoming a true everyday payment system at scale.

@_Phil_Wilson_ Wasn’t this basically what Freimarkets aimed to do — embedding marketplace data in a Merkle/Octree subtree, not as a Bitcoin Core change but as an alternative chain?
Maybe the model just needs updating?
English

@patrickdusman I mentioned to a few folks at the 2018 Bitcoin Satoshi Roundtable in Cancun that the fixed supply was just for testing and it was expected to change to a horizontal "S' curve within a year or two, so that there would be continuous small inflation forever.
English

There was never any concrete math or robust economic calculus when deciding to fix the coin supply for Bitcoin.
It was, after all, supposed to just be an initial test to check whether the basic ideas for a peer-to-peer electronic cash would work at all.
wasiwasi12@patrickdusman
@_Phil_Wilson_ Can Bitcoin’s fixed-supply economics ever make it viable as money — or does it structurally incentivize hoarding over spending?
English

@_Phil_Wilson_ Thanks, that makes sense from a denomination standpoint.
But moving the decimal doesn’t change the incentive structure.
The real question is whether a strictly fixed supply can sustain velocity — or if it inherently rewards hoarding over circulation.
English

@patrickdusman For someone in 70 years time, their grandparents called it "Micros", parents called it "Nanos", and they call it "Picos"
Or something like that
English

For that to occur, Bitcoin has to be able to be USED as money.
And not just an investment vehicle

Bitcoin is money, it should be exempt from all taxes.

Nick Szabo never invented Bit Gold.
He wrote a few paragraphs about something that had never been built and never worked.
An idea isn’t an invention.
Otherwise, I’ll say “boots allowing you to walk up a wall horizontally”
That doesn’t mean I invented those boots
Johnny Wilkins@wilkins_jo52699
Just know that Nick Szabo, who may be Satoshi Nakamoto in the flesh, inventor or Bit Gold, disagrees with you. Bip110.org run Knots.

@dumbbitchcap We traveled all over the world with both our kids at all ages. Had the time of our lives. Really this is on you: traveling with kids can be super easy and fun if you just ease up a bit and let it.
English

Everyone quote tweeting pics of traveling with their children is respectfully highly delusional. I love my daughter but if you travel with a baby or a toddler you’re not going to have a good time. Packing for it is an olympic sport, good luck figuring out car seats / sleeping situations. Even after that you wont have any of their shit, and they’re going to be fussy in awkward situations like on a plane for several hours with no room to run around. You’re going to have to mentally block out half of the trip because it’s not chill at all. Kids are great but don’t be a lying asshole. Thank you for your attention on this matter

9 months from now you could be sipping some wine in Italy or changing a diaper. Make good decisions this snowstorm.

@CsTominaga @TheTrueVanguard I rediscovered the old C64 in my parents' attic 3 years ago.... even though I'm not a gamer, I loved this game.
