Watch the documentary. I'll never get that time back. Apprecite the attempt at kindness towards Fran and Meredith but the methodology and investigative prowess being shown is as bad at @JohnCarreyrou at the NYT, Frankly with the upcoming Calvin Ayre funded movie, Killing Satoshi starring Casey Affleck (and the unproven lies about Gary Oldman playing @adam3us circulating) the whole thing is ridiculous. A much better documentary is Kung Fu Elliot (mirrors Faketoshi and Calvin's delusions)/. It also has more clues about Satoshi subjects then anyone cares to investigate. Casey Affleck should be ashamed being associated with the Faketoshi lies.

The original Digitalcoin was founded on Bitcointalk in 2021. The official name is "Digitalcoin" with the ticker "DGC" The narrative has never ran before and perfectly fits in the meta. See below: bitcointalk.org/index.php?topi…

@notgrubles The thing is that at least coins like Megacoin, Digitalcoin or Freicoin... tried to be something - they had ideas, experiments, or technical angles. Most of today’s meme coins don’t even pretend to have that.

Even if I don’t agree with everything in this video, it shows how a demurrage currency #Freicoin keeps money circulating instead of being hoarded. Systems like the Chiemgauer... it can actively support regional economies. youtube.com/watch?v=WzijH3…

@nic_carter @arjunblj @fed_fab The demurrage model isn’t easy to communicate, but it introduces incentives that Bitcoin simply doesn’t have. At the moment, those differences could actually become advantages rather than drawbacks.

If you're working on or evangelizing a Bitcoin alternative that encourages "spending over hoarding", I'd love to hear your take on Freicoin, an old alt-coin that attempted to solve this with demurrage.

Still works, but nobody really cares about it. It will actually work even if nobody is mining it because it has auxpow. multiple times people stopped mining different algos on it, and the blocks kept going then they swapped out some of the algos for different ones to keep it going, they even had algos for phones to mine. Pretty neat thing, but again nobody cares or understands the technologies of that or of bitcoin, they dont understand or care about the limitations of bitcoin or of the consequences of not properly maintaining it or of the consequences of using bitcoin in ways that are not appropriate for the architecture of it.

Bitcoin’s core innovation is neutrality. When you start filtering out “unacceptable” transactions, you introduce governance risk into a previously neutral system. This increases the odds of capture. Objective technical limits are good. Arbitrary/subjective filtering is bad.

@BTCBreadMan The more you do this the farther we are going to go to restore bitcoin, and the more people who agree with any of your things are going to become refugees going back to the shitcoins they belong in.

Luke's communication is properly suited to the future. The enemies of bitcoin are going to get more and more fervent and absurd. They are a DDOS on social level, they use too many words for small ideas. This quote sums it up: “If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.” -satoshi

I apologize @LukeDashjr about a month ago I said you weren't a good communicator. You are. I just didn't realize the magnitude of Core's ineptness. Especially in their langauge. You sound like Abraham Lincoln next to them.

@_Phil_Wilson_ BCH and BTX probably come closest to the original white paper vision. But even then, it’s still hard to see either becoming a true everyday payment system at scale.

Those who wanted Bitcoin to succeed were kicked out of the community between 2015 and 2017
abdel@AbdelStark

What is happening to Bitcoin right now is genuinely a terrible tragedy for what it represents as hope for humanity. I am depressed by the current state. It’s very very sad. If we fail with Bitcoin the hope to fix the money and hence improving massively the world is gone. Writing those lines makes me sad. I am seeing a lot of demotivation among some of the most cracked Bitcoiners that genuinely want (and can!) make Bitcoin win and improve the world. I do feel it also. I don’t want to give up. There is still some kind of hope but it requires some cleansing of the dumbass mfers that never accomplished anything meaningful in there life and that are blocking any potential progress on Bitcoin. Yes it’s not new, there were always people like that. It’s completely different from the « positive » Bitcoin maximalism, the one that is simply an immune system, with a social layer fighting to protect the core principles that make Bitcoin what it is. Here it’s something different, vicious and putting Bitcoin on the wrong trajectory. Because at the same time the TradFi is coming, the suits are coming and slowly but surely capturing it. And the average dumbass mfer are happy about it. They don’t want to see real Bitcoin adoption. They are just obsessed by the Store Of Value aspect of it. Which does not make any sense without the p2p cash / MoE part. You cannot chose one or the other lmao.. they work both in tandem. Bitcoin has to be truly unstoppable p2p cash for the planet for it to be a good store of value protecting people from the broken fiat system. So yeah, we need some cleansing. Perhaps the new fresh blood and hope will come from the Global Majority. And to be honest this would be beautiful because this is where Bitcoin can have the biggest immediate impact. Leave space to people who are still there to make Bitcoin what it was supposed to be, and opportunity for fresh blood to continue from there, to oppose to the capture coming from the suits. Also, despite the asshole attitude of this polluted tissue, I wish I would see more support for Bitcoin from the « crypto » side. I know it sounds unfair to ask for it. But I think it has to be. Bitcoin must be preserved at all cost. Job is not finished. North Star is to build something that can resist to globally coordinated nation state attacks.
