@ResisttheMS Why does Newsom lie all the time? Here it's implied. They were done before she ever worked at Fox. They were kaput because he's a liar and cheat.

@nickgillespie You are smarter than this, Nick. How do you know they are nearly fraud free? Absence of prosecution could be absence of resources or interest. It strains credulity to think that with trillions at stake and fraud so easy that fraudsters wouldn't have figured this out.

@BasedMikeLee @JABWT_Dad So forensically audit at random a statistically large population. Or, pick a couple of groups, like prisoners and infant adoptees later deported, and audit them. You are right we don't know. The lack of data allows Democrats to lie and claim we know it doesn't happen.

How do you react when a Senate Democrat says that noncitizen voting in the U.S. is “very, very, very, very, very, very, very rare”? My reaction in a nutshell: They have NO IDEA how common or rare it is because the status quo makes knowing that impossible

@Timwj2005 @JonathanTurley 100%. Carter wasn't held accountable. He was simply reversed. If this were to happen infrequently and relative to new issues then we might be able to accept his legitimacy as a fair judge. But Turley makes the point this isn't the first time.

@JonathanTurley When judges are wrong on this level, why do we allow them to remain judges. In every other field, this level of incompetence would result in termination of employment. Yet we continue to allow them to wield more power than any other politician or office holder in the country.

BREAKING: Hilton statement to @FoxNews: "Hilton hotels serve as welcoming places for all. This hotel is independently owned and operated, and the actions referenced are not reflective of Hilton values. We are investigating this matter with this individual hotel, and can confirm that Hilton works with governments, law enforcement, and community leaders around the world to ensure our properties are open and inviting to everyone."

@alti90 @brithume I don't agree with your claims about Brit Hume, but I do agree that Hilton hotels and it's affiliates should be able to do whatever they want. We should be able to refuse to purchase their services. And the government should be able to do a deep dive on their hiring practices.

@authorofmystery @JonathanTurley @MarkRMatthews So you think California should continue to spend wildly, despite outcomes which indicate failure, and that Californians ought to expect the wealthy to pay even more so we can have more free stuff, and this makes you "decent"? @kdeeig @Sassafrass_84 @number1hklbry We know this is false since the age of 65 was law for decades, and yet the average age of Americans continued to remain fairly stable. I don't know who created that chart and what population they are looking into, but it isn't the US retiree population as a whole.

Who tf do you think you are Rand? This is our money. You dont get to dictate when we should have it. Upping it to 70? What tf is wrong with you? We deserve to enjoy our retirement. In fact, lower the age requirement to 60. It's our money. If there isn't enough money in Social Security, somebody has been sticking their fingers in the pie.
Senator Rand Paul@SenRandPaul

I support bold reforms to Social Security to guarantee its long-term solvency. With Americans living longer, real change is non-negotiable. That’s why I’ve proposed raising the full retirement age to 70—a necessary step to keep Social Security sustainable for future generations. If we want this program to survive, we must act now.

@mcuban It is exactly what was then passed. You are too smart to not comprehend the economic realities of the ACA. All our efforts since 1942, except the HMO Act in 73, have had the economic effect of causing prices to rise. We need radical privatization, not greater regimentation.

The ACA, as passed, is far from what it is today. It was passed to help get coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. Which it has done and done well. 15 years ago it was a question of what was the less bad outcome , letting people who are already sick not have access to care, and costing everyone more. Or Letting the sick people suffer and everyone else pays what they were paying. There is a strong argument for compassion over cash. But. That was 15 yrs ago. Now the insurance companies are vertically integrated and far different. What we see today isn’t because of the ACA. It’s because we let the companies grow into behemoths that have more power over our lives than any other companies. They define the healthcare system. Now it’s time to turn the tables. More than half the customers of health insurance companies are private companies. If you want to protest the cost of healthcare , go to your ceo that signs off on doing business with them , and tell that because of the deal they signed with the big insurers and their PBMs , they are fucking over the country. Most of those CEOs self insure. Tell them to switch to direct contracts , wrap around insurance, smaller PBMs that are transparent and Fee for Service this party administrators Your ceo is as responsible for your skyrocketing healthcare costs as the companies he is buying your insurance from

@RepJeffries How, Sir, can you be this intellectually inert? If the ACA needs more subsidies to prevent people from feeling the consequences of price spikes due to the ACA itself, then the flaw is in the fascist law itself, not in the fight over subsidies to obscure that flaw.

@amyklobuchar The subsidies were intended to be short-lived. If the ACA needs continued subsidies to keep individuals from facing the consequences of rising costs due to the ACA then cut the hundreds of billions you want from something else, or raise taxes. Stop stealing from the future.

If Congressional Republicans refuse to extend the health care tax credits more than 600,000 veterans will see their premiums double and more than 260,000 will be priced out entirely. We can’t let that happen. Those who risked their lives to defend our country deserve better.

Let’s open our eyes. This isn’t a functioning democracy any longer when - in the middle of a high stakes funding fight - the President illegally suspends federal projects in states run by Democrats as a way to punish the political opposition.
Russ Vought@russvought

Roughly $18 billion in New York City infrastructure projects have been put on hold to ensure funding is not flowing based on unconstitutional DEI principles. More info to come soon from @USDOT.

@SenDuckworth Got it. So you're saying that Democrats enacted a bad law that DRAMATICALLY increased health care expenses for most people. And the only way to pretend they didn't is to borrow money from people not yet born to help cover the damage. Do you even HEAR yourself?

With ACA tax credits, a 60-year-old couple making $85,000 pays ~$7,000 for their annual premium. Without ACA tax credits, the same couple could be forced to pay nearly $30,000. I know Republicans only speak "billionaire"—but middle-class families can't afford this.
