Most people don't know what the Foreign Service actually does. These are the career diplomats who staff every U.S. embassy in the world. It used to be an esteemed institution, but over time, DEI infiltrated and we began testing on ideological alignment instead of American history and foreign policy. The State Department's new America First reforms are much needed. They restore a real written exam, training built around economic statecraft and strategic competition, and required reading from Washington, Kennan, and the Federalist Papers. One of the funny parts of flying in and out of Saudi airports is that a lot of their airports seem to be dual military/civilian, which means I just watched a hardened shelter open, emit an F-15, and slam shut while drinking a latte in the terminal.

If I were to start a private school, it would be a boys-only institution. All teachers would be male. Most would come from military backgrounds, with preference given to those with special forces experience. The structure would prioritize physical and practical development. Each morning would begin with physical training. Boxing. Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Obstacle courses. Firearms training. There would also be a strong emphasis on building. Shop classes. Hands-on work. The ability to construct something real. Even for someone who becomes an IT engineer, knowing how to build a chair matters. Real-world construction develops thinking. It trains problem-solving in a way abstract learning does not. Academic instruction would be concentrated. No more than three hours per day at a desk. That is sufficient to meet curriculum requirements and maintain academic competence. The rest of the day would be spent developing strength, discipline, and practical skill.

@9mmsmg The issue with modern medicine/technology is that under more "natural" circumstances, these people would just die and never reproduce.

After watching quite a bit of this show, it's impossible not to notice something. Most of these people are ridiculously low IQ. Their families are nearly all as incredibly stupid and are often fat, too. This is an example of high time preference. There is only the now, there's no way to envision the future for them. A person of normal intelligence would think, "If I'm going to eat this whole cake, I'll get fat." These people can't possibly think about downstream effects. They simply don't have the cognitive function. This is a plague of those with IQs in the 80s. It impacts every aspect of their life. There is no tomorrow. There's only cake. Giving full agency to people below the curve generally ends in disaster. They can't help it.
