@theannalux I’d be curious to know what country and city this occurred in… I have quite a bit of experience on Airbnb.

During our stay, the host repeatedly called us after we raised concerns about loud drilling noise (on the second day, we didn’t complain on the first).
When we didn’t answer her calls, she sent messages saying we “didn’t have the courage” to speak with her.
Now, 7 days after we posted our review, she has started contacting us again on WhatsApp.
This is not normal host behavior. Guests should not be harassed during or after a stay.

We stayed in a listing where loud drilling (building maintenance) made it impossible to work during the day. We raised this respectfully.
After checkout, the host started contacting us repeatedly on WhatsApp, pushing for calls and making inappropriate comments when we refused.
We left an honest, factual review.
Airbnb removed it.
If real experiences can be erased while this kind of behavior is ignored, how can anyone trust this platform?

Now, any man between 17 and 45 years old needs a permit from the German military to leave the country for more than 3 months.
I've been warning you: a mobility freeze (like what they already did with endless lockdowns) is comparable to a cash seizure.
So if you're a wealthy European, get yourself a Plan B passport and Bitcoin in self-custody.

@BowTiedMara You only have to ask for permission if you intend to stay overseas for more than three months. So the news article doesn’t quite tell the whole story…. You won’t get blocked at the airport if you haven’t gotten a permit….. no implementation yet

Yes, it's true. As of January 1, 2026, under Germany's updated Military Service Act (via the Military Service Modernization Act), all men aged 17-45 must get permission from a Bundeswehr career center to leave the country for more than 3 months—whether for study, work, or travel. This applies in peacetime and was reported by Berliner Zeitung and confirmed across multiple outlets.
