Whenever I visit Germany: ‘Zug hat Verspätung’. Also, they are not as smooth and fast. About to catch my HSR here in Fenghuang guaranteed - it wont be late and I’ll be in Chengdu in few hours. 5G all the way. Food delivery to my seat in Chongquing. In Germany you get Kalte Buletten am Imbissstand 😀

"I can...roll up to the train station 10 minutes before departure" you can do it... with *german* high speed rail. with chinese HSR you can't, because their stations are located far from the city center and have airport-style boarding.

High speed rail is simply better than flying. I can decide right now to visit another city and roll up to the train station 10 minutes before departure. I can watch scenery, walk around and have full phone signal the entire journey. The HSR experience is just better!

In the last few days, gasoline prices in China have spiked 11.0% and diesel prices have soared 13.5%. Closure of the Strait of Hormuz over an extended period can cripple the country’s economy.

A very interesting contrast between two American-born athletes at the Olympics. Freestyle Skier Eileen Gu (right), despite living her entire life in America, competes for China and gets paid millions of dollars to do it. Figure skater Alysa Liu (left), who just won a gold medal for the United States, is the daughter of a Chinese immigrant who participated in the Tiananmen Square protests. China attempted to recruit her but she refused and needed enhanced security from the State Department at the '22 games in Beijing because of it. In a world of Eileen Gu's, who sell out their country for cash, be an Alysa Liu. 🇺🇸

It's been almost 4 months now since Grace Jin Drexel's father Pastor Ezra (Mingri) Jin and over a dozen others members of the Zion Church were rounded up and detained by the CCP. They have been held ever since for the "crime" of worshiping outside state control. No family visitations have been allowed, so little is known about their condition, Grace told me during the recent @IRFSummit. She has not seen her father in person in 7 years. He was not even able to attend her wedding because the CCP had imposed restrictions on him traveling. "That all 18 of the detained individuals—including my father—will be released unconditionally and immediately…I hope and pray for that," Grace says. "And I hope and pray that the rest of the world—everyone who knows our story—will be able to pray with us for this."

@AndyBxxx @BBC For German carmaker's it's not some ominous "deeper cost", it's a very obvious cost. And since China controls 90% of the global processing of rare earths (which you need for e-cars), we are virtually at their mercy. So it's not just "scaremongering", it's a very real threat.

The @BBC have dropped their new version of "but at what cost". 🤣 This is a common tool for Western media to turn positive Chinese developments into negative and scaremongering stories.

She did it again in the next episode claiming Westerners can only stay in ‘approved’ hotels. Holding up bundles of cash instead of using Weixin. Unlike when in other countries she is acting quite paranoid, constantly expecting police brutality and ‘authoritarian’ surveillance and prohibitions. The Dutch are the biggest Kool aid drinkers in the world. But she’s also starting to relax a bit 😆👌
