We can confirm a man was arrested earlier today at Liverpool John Lennon Airport in connection with the murder of Ellis Cox. The 19-year-old man, from Maghull, was detained by officers this morning (Thursday 23 April) having arrived in Liverpool on a flight from Spain. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody where he will be questioned by detectives. It brings the total number of arrests in this case to seven, with the previously arrested six people all on conditional bail pending further inquiries. Ellis, aged 19, was fatally shot on Sunday 23 June 2024 at the Liver Industrial Estate and our investigation is ongoing to find the person or people responsible. Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath said: “I hope this latest arrest shows how our investigation team remain as determined as ever to get justice for Ellis’ family and time is no barrier to our relentless pursuit of all those involved in his murder. “Although we have now made another arrest in connection with this incident, I want to urge anyone with information to come forward. “It has been nearly two years since Ellis was shot at the Liver Industrial Estate and his family have been forced to live without anyone facing justice. “If you have any information whatsoever, please search your conscience and come forward.
