i know several people in their mid 30s that got one-shotted by nomading and are starting to be really depressed about it here's the problems they are facing: > a lot of them would actually love to start a family > EVERYONE Is single though, often for years or even decades of situationships > optionality both human wise (relationships etc) and location wise has made it impossible to commit to anything > there's a constant feeling of the grass might be greener (leading to no grass at all!) > all of them moved around multiple times a year for 10-20 years > all of the nomad places (bali, KPG etc) are dominated by people who are there only for a couple of week/months a year > a lot of my friends have a lot of people they "know" but almost 0 true friends (because friendships actually need a lot of time spent together) > and because all of their friends are also nomads, everyone is always on the go so it's incredibly hard to build depth in any relationship > most of these "friendships" feel very intense in the moment but amount to 0 over a couple of years because you simply never see most people > if you want to start a family, when you're hitting mid 30s it suddenly gets real that you might miss that traind entirely (some of them are starting to be really depressed about this) > this is more true for women, but let's face it most 30-35 yo woman also don't want someone in their 50s or 60s so the window is also closing rapidly for the men > most of the nomad lifestyle is also antioptimized to be family friendly > you could say that being a nomad longterm really is anti-optimizing to make starting a family more likely > most nomad places are also predominantly inhabited by people in their 20 or early 30, once you outgrow these cohorts a mismatch starts to happen (people either become manchilds or start feeling totally disconnected) > btw, it's TOTALLY fine not wanting to start a family or have roots at one place. all i'm saying is many of these peopel thought so too in their mid 20s but then missed to adjust their lifestyle to what they really wanted: deep friendships, roots and eventually a family > let's be realistic, a lot of relationships go to waste so even if you're "only" 30, that's basically just 1-2 relationships go wrong before your become infertile (as we women). it happens fast as fuck! also you don't want to start a family with someone you just met, so you also need to include at least 1-2 years of living together before you make such a decision > friendships & relationships are assets that compound over time and it's very very hard for most nomad to actually get to that point. i'm not saying it's impossible but it's just what i'm seeing with people I know > I think a great solution is to take some of your nomad friends and actually start a co-living project like @levelsio does. > it's totally anecdotal, but I just wanted to remind everyone to rethink if you're lifestyle is actually aligned with your long term goals. and no, you don't have all the time in the world. things take time. use it wisely. btw. I also traveled a lot (and still do by most people's standards)! i totally get why people love this lifestyle. but it's so important to understand the downside too

Big respect to Bitmex. It was the first perp exchange in my long journey back in 2017, and great to know that it was never ever hacked – the forgotten standard as of now. Very sad that it’s shutting down.
BitMEX@BitMEX

Dear BitMEX Users, Today, we share with a very heavy heart that BitMEX exchange will shut down its operations, effective 23 September 2026 at 04:00:00 UTC. The owner and operator of BitMEX, HDR Global Trading Limited, has made the difficult decision to close operations following a strategic review of the business. It may not look the same today, but we are proud of our 11+ year legacy and the role we played in shaping the crypto industry. We invented the 100x leverage perpetual swap, which for most of you, was the first step to your crypto trading journey. It is now the most traded financial product in the crypto industry, adopted by thousands of users and exchanges. And we remain proud of our robust security infrastructure, which has allowed us to maintain a flawless track record of 0 customer funds lost to hacks in our entire operating history. We want to reassure you that your assets remain fully safe and under your control during this transition period. This announcement is just to give enough time to ensure a smooth withdrawal process for everyone. From today we strongly encourage all users to close their positions and withdraw their funds as soon as convenient. For more details on the full process, please read our blog: bitmex.com/blog/bitmex-cl… BitMEX was once home to some of the greatest traders today. Our team has dedicated tremendous effort and passion into building the platform into what it is, and we are glad to have reached some of you during your time with us. To everyone who has traded, supported, and grown alongside us - thank you for your trust over the last 11 years. The BitMEX Team

Your 30s are for raising a family while growing in your career and settling into a home as you save for retirement and find time and funds to travel and stay involved in your hobbies and be there for your friends' special moments and cooking your own meals while keeping a regular fitness routine and a clean house and still getting enough sleep to function.

Found a neat demo: Stipend by @abhinavg6 — confidential payroll on-chain 🔐 Salaries are encrypted end-to-end on a public chain: ・Pay the whole team at once — the chain shows that a payment happened, not the amount ・Each employee sees only their own pay ・Finance/audit gets read-only visibility into everything, but can't move funds ・Employees can prove their income to a lender without handing over any key Built on Sui Confidential Transfers 👇 github.com/abhinavg6/conf…

Cryptocurrency was intended to be a tool of mass protest. The point was always to produce instability in the plutocratic, quasi-privatized monetary systems that pervade modern society. This instability was supposed to be a *lever* in favor of money users. Crypto had the power to be a monopoly breaker, but monopolists have very comfortably assimilated it into their operating schema.

Believe it or not there exists a secure digital signature algorithm with empty signature bytes. Literally sending zero bytes and sign real messages. I can apply it already in multiple blockchains. More soon I’m really shocked 😮 about this property and it’s actually safe to use it. What the heck…

A persistent headache for multisig wallets on #Sui: frequent permission-management or transfer transactions invalidate each other's signatures, because each on-chain tx changes the gas coin's version and breaks previously-signed transactions still waiting in the queue. @SuiSecurity's MultiSig service is the first to switch transaction construction to an account-balance model. Now, while earlier transactions in the queue are still waiting for other signers, you can keep creating new ones. @suidevelopers multisig.suisec.app

My heuristic is that any diff an agent generates over ~1500 lines is too big and is indicative that the problem needs to be decomposed. This is my general pattern now for feature work: 1. Try to implement the whole feature, loosely guided. I call this the "draw the owl" prompt in reference to the meme. Expect garbage, you're going to get garbage. 2. If the diff is less than 1500 lines, review it and iterate normally. If the diff is more than 1500 lines, prompt the agent to decompose the problem into atomic, incremental, reviewable tasks. Simultaneously, do this yourself. 3. Agents will very often make these tasks way too specific to the shape they solved. You need to massage it into the right general shape. Do that. 4. Kick off new agents to work on those incremental things (as parallelized as possible). Apply the same rules. 5. At a certain, point, repeat the "draw the owl" prompt. At some point, you will get beneath your review-ability threshold. This has been producing consistently high quality, maintainable, reviewable chunks of code that have a good handoff to either merge as-is or human refinement. And with the latest frontier models at xhigh thinking, these are all slow enough that you can usually have multiple going concurrently while you are actively reviewing others or working on your own tasks. HITL (human-in-the-loop) agents are still super important, especially for feature work. Features touch the human boundary in terms of UI, API, etc. And net new stuff can introduce pathologies in the architecture that violate desired invariants (these should be represented in specs or tests but we aren't perfect!). I know a lot of the leading edge agentic discourse is about "loops" and agents driving agents continuously. I do some of that (will report on that later). But, in terms of raw daily get-shit-done type of work, this is my most rewarding pattern at the moment.

I got tired of babysitting yield on Sui. Watching rates, moving funds, claiming rewards, over and over. So I built SAM to do all of it for me: deposit once, it routes to the best yield and compounds it automatically. Non-custodial, live on mainnet now. 🍀
