We are excited to announce that @AftermathFi, the perp exchange and @SuiNetwork validator, are proposing an 80% cut to Sui's RGP. We ask all @SuiNetwork validators to reduce their RGP to ≤ 100 MIST. We believe that this is both the right step and the right moment to align Sui with the rest of the market. Here's why: Sui today charges ~6x more than Solana for a simple transfer, despite having the competitive edge when it comes to faster finality, parallel execution, and greater flexibility through PTBs. A single order on Phoenix (Solana) costs $0.0011. On Aftermath, $0.0018. Both products have been heavily optimized for their respective stack. The remaining cost imbalance is due to how either chain charges for computation. Shouldn't we be incentivizing on-chain activity? After less than two months, Aftermath already consumes ~10% of Sui's daily gas. ~216k txs/day, ~2.1M on-chain events/day, 15 live markets across crypto, equities, and commodities. All fully on-chain. All paying gas on every quote, cancel, and fill. Lowering gas doesn't just save money for existing users; it unlocks entirely new participants - market makers, institutions, agents traders - who were previously priced out of high-frequency trading on Sui. Let's make Sui the home for onchain financial trading.

Connecting with builders in person always hits differently, and that was clear at the #BUILDIRL event hosted by @currentfriend. One project that genuinely stood out to me was actually @_deeptrade. Huge appreciation to the team for backing the vision and contributing to something meaningful within the community. What made it even better was getting to actually interact with them and understand what they’re building. Not just surface talk, but real insight into their direction and how they’re thinking about the future of DeFi. That’s where things started to get interesting. @_deeptrade is focused on building a more verifiable, transparent, and composable DeFi experience, and that already tells you they’re thinking beyond the usual narratives. It’s not about hype. It’s about structure. At its core, Deeptrade is an open-source DEX powered by DeepBook and Walrus, which means it’s built on solid underlying infrastructure rather than trying to force its own isolated system. @DeepBookonSui handles the liquidity layer, while @WalrusProtocol supports data availability and storage, and Deeptrade brings it all together into something usable. That combination alone matters because it allows for better composability. Instead of fragmented systems, you get something developers can actually build on, and users can interact more seamlessly. Transparency is another strong point here. Which matter's to me most especially. Everything is designed to be onchain and verifiable, which reduces the need for blind trust. In a space where that’s been a recurring issue, this approach stands out. And then there’s verifiability itself, making sure actions and data can be proven, not just assumed. This got more interesting. And guess what? They are here for long-term thinking. They're not built around short bursts of attention, it’s focused on becoming part of the infrastructure layer, especially within the Sui ecosystem. Projects like this don’t always make the most noise early, but they tend to matter more over time. #BUILDIRL wasn’t just about gathering people. It was about connecting the community with real builders and real ideas, and @_deeptrade definitely delivered on that. If you’re paying attention to where DeFi is heading now, this is one of those projects worth keeping an eye on, not just for what it is now, but for what it’s positioning to become.
