Most of them can be re-used as collateral, transferred, sold, making them independent economic assets, not actual, generic receipt tokens.

Why do so many people choose to lend out ETH on Aave for 2% instead of stake via Lido for 3% yield? In a new paper with Joel Hasbrouck, @cryptoeconprof, and @casparschwa we build a structural econometric model and estimate it with data from Aave and Lido. The result? There is a huge market inefficiency that cannot be explained by smart contract risk, depeg risk, or any other risk.

@kashdhanda @solana I guess it depends on the context/level of sovereignty. A fully sovereign AI would need a bearer asset. Bitcoin is the only option as all other L1 coins fail to accrue monetary premium since they're vulnerable to last-resort consensus issues - i.e. not grounded in energy (PoW).

@kashdhanda @solana They're centralised IOUs, even if dressed up on a trustless ledger. Unlike bitcoin and physical gold, stocks, tokenised gold, and real estate aren't bearer assets; your ownership exists at the mercy of government or custodian registries and whatever the state decides to enforce.

They'll either become filthy rich or broke in the long run, nothing in between. Not bitching about drawdowns is actually good marketing imo.
