In 2018, 100,000 Bs F. were redenominated into 1 Bs Soberano (VES) By 2021, the Bolívar digital (VED) was born, which removed six zeroes again from the currency. Today, 1 USDT goes for 600 VED in Binance P2P. Account for the fourteen zeros removed from the currency, and $1’s worth SIXTY QUADRILLION of 2008’s Bolívares (B.) Given everything that’s been happening with Venezuela, I opened an old drawer where I keep old Venezuelan bills. Below from left to right you see: • 200 Bolívares soberanos from 2018 • 500k & 1M VES from 2020 • 10 & 20 VED from 2021 I have vague memories of buying an empanada at school with 50 Bolívares (B.) AND EVEN LESS! Now, Venezuelans need almost the equivalent of 1 QUINTILLION Bolívares to buy that same empanada 🥟 For almost two decades the Venezuelan Central Bank has been raped, and over a century of savings have been wiped out. There won’t be an easy way of out this, but the time to rebuild our beloved country is coming, and we must do our best to help Bitcoin be a center piece!
