You don’t know enough about brands to dictate what is accretive or not. I could also debunk this a ton of different ways.
Regardless, I will continue to sell out high end collectibles in seconds, our digital collectibles will continue to lead the PFP pack, and I will continue to collaborate with “high end” and “luxury” brands.
Everything you say we can’t do, we will do.

Perma positive NFT influencooors are raving about Pudgy Penguins showing up in Walmart, and it’s never been more obvious how clueless they are.
Allow me to explain👇
Everybody knows I’ve been a huge fan of Luca since I heard about him and fell down the rabbit hole learning about his past successes in online marketing, particularly ecommerce. Even more impressive is what he’s accomplished at such a young age.
Luca is gifted and a one in a million type talent. Nobody can argue this. And to be clear, I don’t own any Pudgy Penguin NFTs or have any investment or other affiliation with Luca or his partners. I really don’t know him much more than anybody else here, but I have done my homework.
So like I’ve said in the past few months, I’ll reiterate that Luca is a cut above pretty much everybody else that I’ve seen in the web3 space. And getting a deal done with Walmart is testament to business experience (but maybe not acumen).
One thing is for sure though, fan boys haven’t looked at it critically.
For starters, while it’s alot of work to get into Walmart (red tape, fancy displays etc…), it’s also not some monumental achievement.
A year or so ago, Luca made a deal with PMI. The company produces toys for Fortnite and Among Us. Pudgy Penguins is killing it on Instagram and other social channels and deserves to be in the discussion and this category.
PMI has alot of clout with Walmart and other retailers. It can get a test in hundreds or even thousands of stores for pretty much any product. New brands often even pay retailers like Walmart for the privilege of getting space in the store for a test run.
Now I don’t know the specifics of this particular deal, but what you’re seeing with the plushies in Walmart is undoubtedly a test run. What will matter ultimately is the sell through. But for the Pudgy Penguins’ $8000 NFT collectors there’s now a disconnect.
Benito (RTFKT) unfairly caught flack over a joke he made questioning how web3 is really winning by going from Sotheby’s to Walmart. It’s a valid point.
So many higher end brands have been absolutely obliterated by going into Walmart. Tommy Hilfiger is a prime example. I don’t think it ever recovered from the Walmart reputation hit. There’s no going back.
Certainly there’s a double edged sword with selling at Walmart. Of course you’ll drive sales beyond what you can in any other retailer, but at what cost?
The cost is permanent brand impairment associated with Walmart products. And while this isn’t meaningful for Kraft Singles or Black and Decker Toasters, it is for products that want to be considered higher end.
As a life long investor and trader, I’ve listened to likely thousands of retailer earnings calls. And Walmart is always the elephant in the room.
Brands that want to boost sales to beat guidance (and raise stock price) can do so quite easily. Just sell to Walmart. It’s always a favorite quip from analysts in the Q&A. It’s no secret. Walmart drives sales by channel stuffing.
Pudgy had a great thing going. It was selling high end limited run physicals for hundreds of dollars each. Margins were extremely high. Demand was tepid. Everybody happy.
So why in the world would you want to go into retailer hell with $7 plushies that can easily be marked down to $2 in no time near the end of the run?
I don’t agree with this concept of a value funnel starting from people that buy a cheap stuffed animal at Walmart, and it somehow benefiting the upper echelon collectors.
This is something Luca feels strongly about, and the influencooors seemingly concur.
If you look at history you won’t find a single example of a brand being able to sustain success on the bargain basement floor, and at the same time high end luxury.
For instance, Tudor and Rolex co-exist. Different price points. Similar quality. But you wont find a Tudor at Walmart. It’s a smart watch choice for people that want to save a few k on a Rolex minus a few subtle features.
That model works. This one won’t.

You DO NOT understand how unhinged this really is.
Ben Armstrong just showed up at an ex-employee's (Carlos) house who he accuses of "stealing his lambo". He decides to bring a WEAPON and the woman he cheated on his wife with??
Ben also decided to livestream it ON YOUTUBE with the title: "Live-streaming from Carlos' House (Where My Lamborghini Is)
But what noone is talking about is the craziest part...
Ben "scheduled" the livestream ahead of time, meaning Carlos saw this coming miles away... and surprise surprise, called the police who immediately arrested Ben.
WTF

Coffeezilla@coffeebreak_YT
Did Bitboy just live-stream himself showing up to a guys house who “stole” his lambo and immediately get arrested? Crypto is so back.
