serious question: how do you structure a short on the Western European welfare state that you can hold for years?
long rates via swaps? not sure the carry is worth it over a multi-year horizon.
short EUR/USD? risky with the orange man in place.

Who’s bidding morpho here and why? Their tvl decreased by 10% in 24h and I think DeFi outflows continue over the next month as the rseth situation gets sorted. I have people in every gc offramping because the risk/reward of on chain yields makes no sense at this point. I’m guessing bulls believe morpho will take aaves place but there’s not evidence of people leaving aave and depositing in morpho yet. Both are having huge outflows. Morpho already traded at a higher fdv + was very optimistically priced before this. Applying an optimistic take rate ie 20% assumes an almost 100x multiple on revenues. The bid is irrational imo

This is my post-mortem on @DriftProtocol :
- They had a tough road trying to build a perps DEX on Solana, for reasons now apparent to most
- The team members often communicated some of the challenges they were facing with onboarding traders to this uncomfortable environment – and change on the Solana side has been slow. I’d guess they’d be much higher in perps DEX rankings if not for those issues.
- They were a big target (of their own success) and the victim of a sophisticated attack that many are likely vulnerable to at some level
- They owned it and shared the details for all of us to learn and be better
I hope they find a way to recover.

@sui414 @willwarren Well not really risk free, they are exposed in the first flashblock of the next block to cexdex arbs. Its just that amms dont really pay for the liquidity in the flashblocks before the last one, and regardless LPing on 200ms is more profitable than on 2s

This is a newest type of niche "MEV" strategy - probably one of the smartest tactics i've seen
It levearges the disconnection between onchain infra <> offchain sidecar like Flashblock.
(It's not even "JIT" cuz it didnt ACTUALLY provide liquidity, neither need to hedge the price / handle risk.)
Technically this can be a bigger & concerning exploit via Flashblocks to sweep all LP rewards - if you deposit infinite amount of "Phantom" liquidity (thats bigger than the pool *active* TVL) in one flashblock and withdraw.

(from the Appendix but this is the craziest reveal to me 🤯) 3️⃣ Some liquidity providers are tricking certain AMM's reward contracts and farming LP fees with 0 risk exposure: Leveraging the Flashblocks stack, some LP will "flash" deep liquidity at last sub-block for just 200ms, then withdraw immediately at the next block. Yet given the rewards contract onchain is not aware of the offchain Flashblock stack, it cannot determine which liquidity were actually used, and it calculates LP fees as long as it was in the active liquidity price range hence these LPs are free loading on the fees while not needing to really provide inventory.

Current yield environment is pretty bad. We'll find out in the coming months which managers are level-headed, and which are farming their LPs by going into poorly risk-adjusted opps to squeeze an extra few bucks.
